No -- haven't you heard of Purple-Nose Spontaneous Combustion Disease?? My god, the Pit Bull breeders talk about it all of the time!
Breeding red to blue pigment creates highly flammable purple pigment, which -- given the fiery nature of the average Pit Bull -- can cause the offspring to burst into flame!!
For God's Sake, NO!
I need more coffee.

UNless the dogs both are champions and titled(which is impossible) in some dogsport, you wont be able to get anything for the pups. You will get stuck with a bunch of pups no one wants. even if some one tells you "yeah I would buy a pup from you" when the pups are born , they wont have the money.happens all the time. It is a bad idea , you can go to a rescue and get all the pitbulls you want, they cant give them away. no it is not a good idea. do not breed, it costs money for the vet bills and medications, and sometimes the mom needs surgery to deliver the pups and that can cost 1,000.00;s of dollars if something goes wrong. puppys can be sick and you also have to raise the whole litter for over 2 months that is alot of work. And costs money. You can't make money breeding.

Red nose and Blue nose are just colors. Red is a recessive gene which many pit bulls carry even if they are a different color. The breeders in Ireland many years ago didn't interbreed their lines with anyone else's, and they often kept pedigrees secret and guarded them with their lives. When the gene pool is relatively small like that it tends to bring out recessive traits, i.e. Red. And as for blue, it is just a dilution of black. I'm not exactly sure how blues were originally bred, but most breeders I know will breed blues with blacks and take the blue dogs from that litter and breed back to blue, since breeding blue dogs to each other for too many generations can cause problems.

I don't know if this question is just idle curiosity or you're contemplating breeding. I'm not trying to be mean in any way, but with the crisis pit bulls are in now NOBODY should breed them! Please leave the breeding to the people who know what they are doing and the reason I'm saying this is......
Pit bulls and pit bull mixes end up in shelters, pounds and rescue at a rate that's head spinning. Some places will euthanize pits and not even try to place them in a home, so only the very lucky ones end up in a shelter that even tries. Right now this breed is being persecuted in the public eye and there are way too manty people who want them for the wrong reasons. So please, if you are thinking about breeding don't. It's not just doing these dogs any favors.
Here are some links so you can read up on pit bulls if you are interested.

Breeders work hard on going for a specific color trait. Selective breeding to create what they want. Now you want to go in & screw up what breeder have worked hard to attain. Why?
Breeding Pitts? With all the controversery over this breed? More & more towns & cities will be banning them. Shelters & pounds are euthanizing hundreds a day & you want to breed more to be killed?
I think that you should reconsider. Breeding more Pitts is only asking for more problems.
Are you required to attain a permit to breed? What does the town you live in feel about Pitts?
Just don't do it. There are too many of the damned things already & they are being killed off little by little, town after town, state after state.

Bob... as an owner and trainer you should know the proper spelling, American Pit Bull Terrier.
Red nose, blue nose mean absolutely nothing but the color of the dogs nose. And, it doesn't mean that they are full blooded APBTs. The blue is most likely a mix (the red probably is too).
As a breeder of full blooded APBTs, I ask you to PLEASE not breed your curs. There are plenty of poorly bred pit bulls out there and you don't need to add to the problem. Leave the breeding to the experts, those who understand genetics, gameness, temperament, etc...
People like yourself are only making it harder for those of us fighting to be able to continue to own the bully breeds we love.

I have two Pit Bulls, litter mates, one with a red nose and the other has a blue, their mother had a black. So...it doesn't matter what color they are, they can still breed. However, I certainly wouldn't recommend it since you obviously don't know what your doing. Please get your dogs altered and leave the breeding to the professionals. We don't need any more BYB.

No - you need to spay/neuter. There are enough pit bulls berd by people who don't have a clue what they're doing, and that's part of the reason that the breed has such a bad reputation.
If you know so little about breeding that you have to ask this question, you shouldn't be breeding.

well yes they will breed.
But you shouldnt'. There are far too many pits getting put to sleep in shelters everyday because they have a bad name. (I dont buy into the whole vicsious dog thing though)
People blame the wrong end of the leash. They are very good family dogs, if not trained to be aggressive.
please get the dogs fixed asap.
Dont add to the millions of dogs being euthanized.
