Are you all content with the way this section is (you know what I'm talking about), or do you ever wish it was more of a Theological discussion section. Something along the thought processes of when they do Religious subjects on the History Channel.

I don't frequent this one as often as I do others (but I did today), and I was just curious what the regulars thought.

How would you change it? And don't say kick certain people off, try to accomidate everyone.

The "Religion and Spirituality" topic is too vague. We need subcategories so that the topics can be more focused. Right now, the section is just one big boiling pot.

Well I am a big fan of the History channel so I think that would be OK, as for being content here, No, not really. The amount of hate and people spreading hate is out of control.

I don't think they should kick every one off, I just wish we could talk in a normal manner and not have people picking fights for the heck of it.

I would love to talk to people here with out all the hypocrisy and bigoted natures. Some people here are great, but there are a lot of haters too. They'll hate you for anything and pick fights for no reason. I could do with out those people.

Here's an idea. Allow certain questions to be moved to a section where a more in depth debate can take place. Currently questions disappear so quickly that a give and take discussion is impossible. Set up a forum instead of a simple Q & A. Those questions voted into the forum would then be open for a more thorough discussion.

Personally, I think this section is going downhill, but its still worth it for entertainment value...

I would prefer a more open forum where dialog could be maintained - nothing worse than people spreading lies (like Darwin recanting on his deathbed) and not having any way to contact them. ALso, Id ditch the reporting function, as too many people here seem to think that "Im offended" or "blasphemy" is a good reason to report someone for asking a serious question about God. Its almost as if some people here do not want us to question God...wonder why?

The discussion board is only as good as the people on it. There ARE serious discussion boards for religious issues but they are not as well advertised. YA is a victim of its own popularity - it is easy for everyone to find with no real thought or searching, and this is reflected in the Q&A which frequently demonstrate little or no thought or (re)searching.

I think it is pretty good the way it is. For me, I would like more discussion on spirituality as opposed to arguing over religion all of the time, but for that I just need to ask questions about it. But the theological stuff is interesting too. I've learned alot of things here.

Two things:

1) When people accept the right to SAY stuff, they have to be willing to HEAR stuff. That's the price of open forum and even of free speech. There will always be individuals who make annoying, boring, or meaningless comments anywhere people are free to express themselves.

2) Many of the people who go on the site are under 12.

I love it and am learning if someone wants to put down my beliefs, fine. I don't have to acknowledge them anymore like I used to think I did. Some just want to rile others up, so ignore them and you're fine. I don't report for someone else's opinion even if I don't like it. I think that's been the biggest problem on here. Hopefully, if people find out they can't 'fuel the fire', they'll let up. Visit more often!

Well, if u want to do any other thing rather than having fun here, u can via searching or reading or asking spiritually mature ppl, but this section is for fun.

Good luck!

It is what it is, and nobody is pretending its something else.

I hate theological forums, where people act like they're going to have a serious discussion to better their understanding... but then they argue, and when you argue back they get angry... and when they have nothing left to say in the argument, they attack you personally.

Atleast here people don't pretend its serious
