I used to be an atheist before but thankfully not now, 100 % believer now and the atheists here that have not converted yet are only here for one reason, to learn more about God because they are fence sitters still not sure if they want to jump in. REAL atheists like I used to be would never hang out in a place such as this that is full of religion. in their questions and answers they will deny it but that is only so their friends that see their questions an answers will not make fun of them.they will put up a very strong anti-God front but a front is all it really is.....100 % here are secretly fence sitters,..no true atheists here so keep preaching, they really do want to hear it.....HOWEVER if you see violations of yahoo guidelines please report 100% of the abuses, they can sit on the fence but only decently !

Religion is one of the beliefs many people have and like their other beliefs, there can not be any valid objection on that count about it.Now,lets come to RELIGIOSITY and see what it does.People with misplaced sense of religiosity force, coerce, condemn, criticize, quarrel, antagonize and disturb other people (not already in to their way of life)and rightly earn their wrath, anger, abuses and what not. Now,who started the process and who is judging others? No sane person should hate any religion as it would tantamount to denial of a basic right of others and no civilized society would ever approve it.One last thing, the aggressiveness of such religious fanatics is instrumental in driving more people away from the religion, though they think they are promoting it.Now,please think, investigate and conclude yourself.

I think people who believe in God have the potential to destroy human civilization. Christianity is a virulent infectious agent that corrupts a person's ability to reason and think rationally. Any survey of human history quickly reveals that organized religion has never served the best interests of humanity. I'm here to promote the advancement of human civilization and to help prevent the willfully ignorant among us from undermining our civilization before humanity has a chance to achieve its potential.

The Christians (some of whom hate true religion) are here because they own the place.
The atheists are interested in the subject, and seem to love a good, intelligent debate; they seem to be waiting for that to happen.
I'm here as a party-of-one, a sometimes-spectator, sometimes participant. I don't hate religion, but I hate to see it warped and twisted by those who falsely claim to have a monopoly.

Just trying to help you overcome a harmful belief system Latish.
This always sounds condiscending, but it is the same belief that you as a Christian or Muslim or other religious person holds.
It is your duty to save me from eternal torture, in accordance to your beliefs. On the otherhand, it is my duty to save you from your belief system, that has a historic track record of harming the human race and hurting progress.
The big difference between you wanting to save me, is that we have no proof for the afterlife, it is a belief, where as, we have thousands of years of evidence which shows religion to be generally harmful to humans.

I take spreading the truth very seriously, a hang over from my religious days...
Seriously, people should know both side and objectively evaluate them. Also, religious people need to realize that it is no longer acceptable to legislate their morality on society.

Steve B is close. I would modify his statement as follows:
"They are not atheists, but anti-christians" You'll notice that they spend an inordinate amount of time bashing christians here, while ignoring those few from other faiths who also post.
