I also heard that it does not hurt that much, and I think alot of people were wrong. Mine hurt, it felt like the guy was gonna pull my tongue out of my mouth and the needle didn't feel great either. It only takes 2-3 mintues, though. Then, your tongue will be swollen for at least 3 to 4 days afterwards and will really hurt if you pull on it. Right after you get it done you will get the urge to push the stud out of your mouth, so be careful. I never experienced any problems with eating or it affecting tasting anything, with the exception of occasionally biting in the stud while eating. If you take out the peircing, and I am not joking, it only takes a few hours before the hole will close. I live on the East coast and I think I paid $60 for the piercing and the stud (make sure you go to a place that is recommended). Now, I let mine close b/c my husband forgot to put his in one day, so I took mine out so he didn't feel left out. I will get mine done again, though. The best advice I can give you is only take out your piercing long enough to clean it, and after 3 to 4 weeks go buy some nasal saline spray (make sure you mark it as tongue cleaner, LOL). All you have to do is take out the stud and squirt the spray thru the hole in you tongue and that will keep it clean. Also, for the first 3 to 4 days after the piercing, drink lots of ice water, occasoinally holding some of the ice to the piercing - this will help keep the swelling down. Go For It!!

It doesn't hurt, at all. Maybe a little pinch when he puts the clamp on your tongue and it doesn't effect the way you taste or eat things really, eating will be difficult for the first week though, then you get used to it. Also becareful because I've bit on it a few times while eating. It can also effect your teeth, so make sure after it heals get a plastic ball, it won't do as much damage.. and don't play with it! it isn't good for your gums or teeth.
Also brush your tongue while you brush everything else, because you have an object through your tongue so you always have to make sure to get bacteria away from it if you don't want an infection.
and the cost varies, usally it's within 60-80$
I can't answer the closing part since I have yet to take mine out.

the clamp hurts the most i find. and talking and eating and such is difficult at first since your tongue will swell. its odd but you get used to it after a while, you realize how much you use your tongue once it's pierced.
it does close up eventually, the time span of it closing depends on how long you've had it.
here in louisiana it costs $40. i'm not sure where you're at
also, dont eat spicy foods when you first get it pierced, it burns like hell...and clean it like they say...if you have any problems with it go back

when i got mine pierced it didnt hurt at all, it will take a little while to get used to eating and it will be difficult to have solid food until the swelling goes down ( a couple of days)--drinking ice water helps. it closes up faster then an ear piercing, it only takes 3-4 hours and it could be closed. mine cost $30. the piercer puts in a longer bar to allow for swelling...once the swelling is down you need to change the bar to a smaller one...read up on taking care of it but mine healed pretty quickly :) good luck

well, i've had mine done 3 different times,
but my friend just did it for me.
it didnt hurt all that bad.
its just uncomfortable for a while ya know?
but you slowly get used to it.
it def will be swollen and difficult to eat at first,
but after maybe 3 days it'll go down.
and yes, it will close up
because your tongue is a muscle.
so i suggest to keep it in,
unless you want to repierce it.
and prices.
i wouldnt have a clue.
im sure theres plenty of body peircing shops
that can give u a good estimate.

Cost is about 50.00. When piereced it goes though smooth. Your tounge will swell for about 4 days. And everytime you put anything in your mouth you will have to rinse with mouth wash. You will not be able to eat anything but jello and soup for the first couple days, and forget talking too lol. but it heals pretty fast and if left out it will close up .
