Reliability in Dodges is still highly questionable. Gas mileage is bad to awful. My last full size truck was a Ford F-150 that I wish I still had. I never had any problems with it, gas mileage was a reasonable 17-19 mpg, and it had excellent ride and handling. Resale value is also much better than Dodge. I have a Dodge Durango suv that I can't even sell because I still owe on it and resale value is pitiful. I have spent thousands of dollars in repairs to keep it running, and it gets 11-13 mpg. Dodge is cheaper for a reason. They may have a "lifetime warranty" on the powertrain, but it would still be a big pain to have a truck that breaks down all the time, and you would have to be able to document EVERY oil change to get them to honor that warranty. Dodge dealers are notorious for blaming the customer and denying warranty claims.

If you are buying your first full-size pickup, it's safe to assume it will be a diesel. If it is, buying a Ford is the way to go. Not only do they have a new engine with better turbo's, but are also easier to drive and maintain. When their new diesles first appeared in '03, they had some problems, but this time, they have resolved about 90% of them. I know too many people with Dodge diesels and hear stories about cylinder head failure. Plus, Dodge diesels come with a Cummings transmission-it's great, when it works; when it doesn't, your looking at your truck staying at the dealer for about a week, because of how expensive they are. If your buying a gasoline engine, Ford's are good, but they may not be what your looking for-they offer either a 5.4L V8 or 6.8L V10, but both do not have that extra kick of power you want in full-size truck. Also, Dodge just came out with a lifetime power-train warranty (engine & transmission) That sounds nice, but you might want to do some homework about what is covered exactly and what is not. To answer your question, I suggest a Ford, but then again, if money is an issue, that may sway your decision. But believe me-I have driven those trucks personally, and they are worth every penny.

I happen to be a Dodge fan. The new trucks are quite reliable and very strong, not to mention, a very good looking truck. The Ford is the best selling truck in the world, so that means something. If it were me, i would buy the Dodge, but that is because i had good luck with one.

7 l? Ford made a 7.3 international, yet no 7 liter. perhaps its a 6.0l. those have many time-venerated subjects normally led to via emissions regulation regulations and tuning programmers.

Resale is usually better on a Ford. You have to drive it a long time so I'd get what you really want and like. In my case I wouldn't consider anything BUT a Ford!!!
