I happen to think he's a pretty good driver who will make the Chase next year with a little more experience. But it seems that whenever there is a JPM question on here, about 30% of the answers say something like that. So I ask....

Where does he come from?

What does he do there?

Here's your forum, people. Go for it!

My lord, subtlety is just not appreciated on the nascar board, is it.

I swear to God, the density of some of the people on here is amazing. And btw nascarmom, it's spelled "arrogant" with an "a", not an "e". Believe it or not.

I guess it really is this easy to get people to expose their ignorance.

First of all Beth, I know more about NASCAR than 90% of the people in here. Second, do you think I'm that stupid? Of course I know where he's from. The question was tongue in cheek. So glad it only took you hours to figure that out.

He needs to go back to open wheel racing because he is way to aggressive for the type of racing NASCAR does, and he is constantly wrecking people and taking out good contenders for the win every week due to his stupid errors. He has also opened up a huge door for other open wheel racers to come over to NASCAR, which I dont have a problem with, but more and more drivers will be competing to get into each race and good drivers will start to go home and their will be more drivers trying to make it in to each and every race. I also think that there are alot of tracks in the US that arent being used and that we should start using them before we expand internationally. I think this is just going to continue to be a bigger problem if it goes unsolved.

He should stay here. Let's face it folks, every sport needs a "bad boy" and Juan Problemo Montoya is little more fun to boo than Kevin Hav-a-wreck, Big Shrub, and Tony "Rosie O' Donnell" of NASCAR' Stewart. They're behaving too well.

I'd like to think he's not hated because of his nationality, but some comments I've seen make me wonder.

the two Montoya and Kyle have expertise. Montoya has racked up 7 F-a million wins in 5 seasons, grew to become into the rookie of the year and CART Champion in 1999, and hes gained the Indy 500. Kyle has 5 wins under his belt before his twenty third birthday. call a NASCAR driving force thats has performed the two? helpful they the two can get somewhat aggressive at questionable circumstances in a race, yet Kyle is in simple terms 22 and JP is in his first year in NASCAR. Sr drove for years and positioned distinctive drivers into the wall, yet Sr is one among the final drivers in background. are you able to declare "Double familiar". to declare the two driving force is talentless is very ignorant, yet needless to say we are speaking related to the comparable followers that evaluate Jr a legend.

JP Montoya came from open wheel racing. He first raced in Indy cars before he went to Formula one in Europe. As a rookie in the indy car series, the current champion of that series Al Unser Jr. complained that JP was reckless and other similar complaints were filed about his driving style, yet in short time he became a top tier driver in that series winning the Indy 500 and the series championship. Chip ganassi racing's equipment is not on par with the likes of the chevy teams, so I would say Montoya has made a very good showing this year. He is an excellent ambassador for NASCAR and will help them grow worldwide, so to the France family he is worth his weight in gold. More nations are now watching what has for many years been an American sport, and the money will only help NASCAR stay on top as one of the better sporting venues in the world. Only the ignorant backwoods fanbase could want him to leave.

I think he cries to much for NASCAR. He's a Rookie to NASCAR, he has no room to whine or cry. He has to earn the respect of the other drivers, and he has not done this yet.

Where did he come from? I thought he came from open wheels, Indy or F1.

What does he do there,? He was a driver correct?

How good is he in NASCAR, I think it's going to take more than a year before he makes the chase.

Its just his first yr...He is a great driver he just needs learn the nascar way..He is alittle over agressive for most people, but then you can not be a whimp and drive race cars, he does need to show alittle more respect out there..But its like he said during a interview earlier this yr he is not being paid to drive in the back, he wants to win.. I think once he gets the handle of these beast COT cars next yr he will be great....There's column on Nascar.com "where's juan??? well he might just be in victory lane next yr...He is from South America, we know great drivers come from South America, he is from Columbia, not Brazil...He has tons of experience in open wheel...If he ends up in Nascar like he was in open wheel, he'll win races and probably the first latino Nascar Champ.

I personally like the guy. I think he will do well in Nascar, given a little time to settle in. He just needs to adjust to the Nascar style of racing, and the close proximity of other cars. I think he tries TOO hard to fit in, and he wants it all right now! I think the guy will do very well in the future.

Go Jr.>>>>

He doesn't need to go anywhere. He just needs to learn how to race in Nascar and learn Nascar is not going to change to fit his driving style. If he learns this he will do OK. As of right now he is where he belongs in 20th place. He really isn't doing well compared to the other past rookie of the year winners. In a good year he wouldn't even be close to winning it.

edit...David E. this board is infested with trolls, check posting history before you attribute comments to Nascar fans.

After reading your quote here (That picture is so fake. Rednecks don't drink malt liquour!)
and looking at your posting history I can see you aren't looking for the real answer anyway.
