We know we cant touch the kittens until the mother cat moves them. But she had them early behind the couch and looks like one may not have made it . Is there anything we can do to help her take care of them, What and how since we cant touch them??

If one of them is dead you can and SHOULD touch them - to take them to a vet! Your cat will not harm the kittens if you touch them. If one kitten has died, the others could be in danger, and so could the mother - how can you be certain she's finished giving birth?

I must also beg you to get this cat spayed once the kittens are weaned, and the male castrated. I have to deal every day with all the stray cats that people expect overcrowded charities to take care of, while they still let their own cats punch out more kittens. We need homes for the cats in shelters, and we need them badly - no excuse for breeding cats in the current climate!
