The Pastors were lazy and while they slept, the devil came and sowed tares,( degenerate, or false wheat.) The righteous and the wicked are often mingled in the visible Church. Every Christian society, however " pure ", has its false wheat-those who bear a resemblance to the good, but whose hearts are not right with God. That's why you find hypocrites in the church..they are not truly followers of Jesus.
This is what the scripture refers to..your observation does not apply to this scripture. Anyway, God does not destine anyone to Hell. He wishes that none should perish....but all come to the knowledge of the truth.

Okay, so lets get this clear. Everyone who is going to be "saved" has already been saved, or it is predestined. So then why the heck are Christians going around trying to get everyone into a relationship with the Christian God? Why insist that everyone join the church when clearly, at least according to this, not everyone is supposed to be 'born again', since evidently it is only select persons who will be able to be "saved".

No, because for that to apply, the soul has to *consent* to what satan offers|
So satan has done the sowing of evil persons, but each particular evil person had to choose the evil that satan was offering him in the first place to become evil.
Simple statements in Scripture often say more than what is written there, for often there are assumed or suppressed truths present as well, that Church teaching, reason, or other parts of Scripture supply|

No a child will go to heaven, it is just when they reach an age of accountability, that God then requires a person to be saved. And the tares are referring to people that satan plants in a church to make waves.

If God is truly omnipotent and omniscient and exists, then predestination is a prerequisite of belief in God.
There is no way around that, no matter what verbal gymnastics are used.

The case for predestination is very strong in the Bible.

That would seem to be true, likewise Judas had very little choice in fulfilling his destiny, and many of us who need, not want, *need* evidence seem also to be not chosen.

you should specify "biblical scholars." other scholars would be obligated to point out that your evidence is rather slim.
