He likes you. But maybe not just you.
The booze will loosen him up and make him brave. He'll remember everything he does as well, like french kissing your shoulder which is totally hot.
Ultimately you want the real him though. He may be shy when he's sober but he's also accountable with no excuses.
Ask him out ... for coffee!

No, it's a fallacy to think everything people do or say when they are drunk, is representative of how they really feel. Some people are honest about their feelings when drunk and say things they couldn't spit out when sober, some lie, and some just say whatever pops into their head without any regard as to whether it's the truth or not. Alcohol is not a reliable truth serum, sorry.
Apparently he's just very uninhibited when drunk, and that's why you see that behavior. It's not a good indicator at all as to whether he is actually attracted to you or not.

ALCOHOL!
I really think it's the alcohol, but if you really think there is a connection then ask him straight up, If he's into you he will tell you, I mean if you tell him you're into him he has no worries and should be honest. But if he is sober and says he isn't into you then he's really not into you.

People are a lot more carefree and relaxed and honest when they are drunk. But beware. Casual drinking is ok, but when someone is always getting plastered, it isn't good. My father started out that way, and he is an alcoholic. It isn't good.

it's the alcohol.
I recently got myself in trouble with a girl who liked me because I'd always make plans with her when i was drunk because I wanted to get with her then, then the next day when it came time to do the plans, I'd come up with an excuse cuz when I was sober, I didn't want to be around her.

It's the alcohol, honey. It brings inhibitions down and clouds judgement.

Yes Alcohol is very powerful. When people drink they tend to do things that they would normally do. Try recording him when he is drunk. What a wake up call.
