Hi

I have been looking at Claypaint along with other "natural" alternatives to chemical-based paints. My main choice was this:
http://www.earthbornpaints.co.uk/products/interior/claypaint.htm

I then read (at the following URL) that claypaint contains Kaolin Clay which it claims is radioactive.
http://www.realmilkpaint.com/article-kaolinclay.html

Does anyone know if this is true or if it is just a rival product (milk paint) talking down a competitor (clay paint)?

I was planning on covering my wooden bed-frame in clay too ... and I am now concerned as to the health implications of sleeping every night in something that is "radioactive". Please advise.

Also I am new to Yahoo Answers. I cannot seem to post a second message to my existing posts, to reply to answers. Is there a way?

Thanks.

Being part of the paint and coatings industry I know that the EPA would not allow the public to buy a paint that could be harmful to ones health. Think of the extreme levels the EPA went to to educate the public on the lead paint. Also I would contact the company that sells this paint and provide them with this article because if it is a slanderous article they need to be made aware of it.

If you are looking for a high solid one part epoxy blend that is non-toxic I would suggest Top Secret Coatings TS-100 paint and primer. It would look amazing, and it doesn't peel, fade or show wear.

Good luck.
