Don't have sex with anyone besides your significant other.

Only some people can be monogamous, most people can't. It's hard to meet a partner that will match your sexual desires and your emotional companionship. Although sex is important in any relationship, honesty rules all. You have to be honest with your partner about any thought you might have about wanting to have sex with other people. It's difficult to do, but if you break down that barrier, cheating becomes an issue of lying rather than sex (which shouldn't have any meaning). You must be open, your partner will try to understand if he/she truly loves you, and decide from there how you can handle it if something is bound to happen.
