I think women have a natural distrust of one another. I think it's only in a social aspect though. I know I've been guilty of it. However, I don't feel that jealousy or contempt or whatever you want to call it, in my job. I think that when it comes to women's issues, many women come together to support one another. Look at the breast cancer movement! I've been exposed to women who have been victims of domestic violence and other women rally around them to help them get back their lives. I think women can be catty, but I think there's more to the story. I think that we're better to each other than that overall.

Age has a lot to do with it. When you're younger, you're competing for jobs and men. When you get older, you realize how stupid that is. You learn that you need other women in your life for their understand, support, compassion, celebration of joys and sharing of sorrows. You don't deal with the competition any more. You learn to be happy for someone else, not jealous. If women could learn these things at a younger age, many would have a life-long support group.

I think women are more in competition when in their personal every day lives. For some reason, they feel the need to put each other down, try to prove who is better looking and who is more popular. To me, it is signs of insecurity and they need to work on it.
When it comes to organizations, they will stand together for a worthy cause they all believe in because it benefits all. Even then, some go home and put down others for various reasons.

Its just a natural way of keeping each other on our toes. Seriously think of when another woman has on nice shoes, do you not try to duplicate them, but better. Oh look her shoes have the bow in front, so you go get yours with a bow on the side, and hers were flat you get heels. Lol. Its an actual compliment to each other its just not expressed that way lol.

I think it's good

when you're ragging on each other, you're giving US a break

and dumping your drama on someone more likely to deserve it

women seem to have to make such a big deal out of every little thing
