foods really don't add cholesterol to your system. that has been proven.

I don't want to spoil the organic food marketing system, but there really is only one thing to do with it: $$$ !!

In order to be classified as an organic food a company has to hassel their suppliers. Each supplier of feed grains, pastures, fields, etc has to certify that they do not use any chemicals on their product and haven't for a period of 10 years.

If an orchardist wants to promote say, their apples, they must certify that no chemicals have been used in or near their orchard for 10 years. Sometimes this is very difficult. It is very very difficult to use any fertilizers that are not some part chemical in makeup. But each of the places the fertilizer comes from must certify that their product has no chemical. Like the poop from a dairy! the feeds going into the cow must be certified.

There is really no advantage to chemical free foods!! Other than those people who may be allergic to some of them. I know a few people who are allergic to some of the chemicals, but there are maybe only 1 in 1,000,000 who is really allergic to them.

Pay the lower price and eat happily!!

Do you have a cholesterol problem? If not, I doubt there is a big difference (other than in price).

I'm curious about how they go about genetically breeding the chickens who lay the lower cholesterol eggs. I thought that there was one set of cholesterol for such things.

Do they list how much cholesterol are in their eggs?

I was told recently by a doctor that the prohibitions against eating eggs by nutritionists have been lifted a bit. Recent studies seem to be showing that the problem was more the type of fats used to cook the eggs than the eggs themselves.

Perhaps if you just each coddled, boiled, etc. type eggs - without the use of fats, you could use the regular eggs and still be safe.

I buy eggs with Omega 3 fatty acids.. any brand...for breakfast eggs, quiche, boiled eggs, egg salad, and things like that. They are more expensive, but I feel worth the price, especially if you are going to use them as a meat substitute. My children don't like fish and I can't get them to take supplements... This is another alternative. If I am going to bake a cake that requires lots of eggs, I just use cheaper eggs.
