i would like to try and get yahoo messenger for mac to work on vista as you are not able to call people that are using different operating systems and skype is of poor quailty lately.. just wondering if there was a patch or something to enable windows to recognise the mac version of the file... but still keep vista as the operating system.. hope i have explained this well enough

Never heard of any such patch, so I'd say, no, you can't run mac versions of applications on Vista.

Native OS X software won't run on Windows legally, but Windows will run on OS X Intel PC's.

Try a "Multi-client" Chat program for Windows, like Trillian:

there is no way you can do that... these are different OS platform. though you can patch your vista to mac theme. thats the best thing you can do.
