but i left one thing out my littlest one dose not have her own voice.
she tries to meow and i can here the air coming out.
but no sounds, she has never made a sound.
could this be some kind of infection,or birth defect.
because of this i named her sirin.

By all means, have the vet check her out to make sure there's nothing wrong.

Don't be surprised if the vet says everything is OK, though. Some cats just aren't "talkers." I used to have an orange tabby who hardly meowed at all when he was a kitten. For a long time we thought he was mute! He communicated mainly by waving his tail, so his name was Flag.

Even after he grew up, Flag never meowed much, and when he did it almost always sounded high-pitched and squeaky. On the few occasions when he did give a full-voiced "MEOW!" it was his way of saying that something was VERY wrong.

He didn't really find his voice until a year or two before he died. It's as though he knew his time was short and he wanted to make up for lost time! :-)

I adopted a three (now four) month old kitten and he has the same issue. He'll sit down, look up at me, and kind of whisper his meow. He's been to the vets twice for checkups and nothings wrong. Kittens may just need to grow into their voices.

Audrey,
There's probably nothing wrong. This might be what author Paul Gallico called "the silent meow."
Some kittens grow up to be cats that can't meow, too, and I've had several of them. They just...well, squeak. I attribute this to the fact that they either were, or may have been, feral; I think their mama probably tried to keep them quiet to avoid attracting unwanted attention.
But mention it to your vet anyways, and good luck, Hon.

It might be nothing. In fact, sometimes that's how some cats prefer to meow, unless they're in serious pain. Then they can get as loud as any other feline.

If it really concerns you, you can take her for a check-up. In fact, you might wish to anyway since she is a rescue kitty. But I wouldn't worry about the silent meowing.

Good luck!

I have a kitten that will have tiny whisper meows too. She's 8 months old and finally starting to find her voice. Lock her in a room away from me and she finds that voice really quickly. Not to worry, your kitty is probably just a really quiet baby.

I just read your other post. Are you taking them to the vet on friday? I'm sure they can help you there. I don't really know if it is a birth defect, maybe she had physical trauma? Your best bet is take them to get checked. You're a good person.
Thanks for being so caring.

When kittens are really young, some don't make a sound, some mewl like crazy...but if the kittens are a couple months old already, then there's something up...I say "up" instead of "wrong"...just may be a quiet kitty...

Take her to the vet for some tests, because it could be an infection and she may need medication.
