i know about what happend i read bible every day but i just found Gospel of Thomas it says that jesus was against church hear is what jesus said in that gospel
Jesus said, "If those who lead you (plur.) say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in heaven,' then the birds of heaven will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. But the kingdom is inside of you. And it is outside of you.

roman catholics did.
wasn't there or isn't there a book that's excluded from the bible by the roman catholics because of the book's antichurch attitude.
EDIT:
so much misinformation going around, no wonder there's so many different branches of churches of practically the same religion. every one of them thinks their own views are the ultimate correct ones when their source is from the same biblical words. that is just vain and blasphemous in my book.
jesus was a rebel back in the days. romans didn't like him. it's not so much as he's against government or institutions like being antisocial or anything but he didn't like when the same government that's suppose to be for the people was actually hurting the people. same thing in churches. if churches start to deviate and people in it start to worship something that's unchristian-like or practice unchristianly (and obviously there's some that are like that, and they think they're right too, fighting for the supposedly right causes etc, i.e. the extremists & extreme fanatics, and child-molesting priests, sexually perverted priests and corrupted religious elders etc), then you don't have to stick with that church or those churches. you're believing and following christ, not an institution or other people, not even the pope. and roman catholics/catholic church doesn't like to hear that.
and jesus didn't invent the church. by church you mean a place of worship. religions and churches/temples etc were here on earth long before jesus arrived.
EDIT2:
from what i've seen in these answers, it seems like there's alot of defensive tone and hostility undertone in people's answers/comments. so when anyone asks a general question about your religion, your first reaction is to think the questions are done out of mockery?! that says alot about your priorities in what you (suppose to) believe in. you're more focused on your self-esteem and insecurities, basically your self than your faith/religion. where's the love?

Christ founded his church and since it is His, it bears His name, the church of Christ.
The Church Began in Jerusalem in AD 33
Jesus promised to build His church (Matthew 16:18). The prophets foretold the church would be built in “the last days” in Jerusalem (Isaiah 2:2,3; Joel 2:28-32). Jesus told His apostles to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:4-8). The Spirit came upon them on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-13). Peter said this was the fulfillment of Joel’s prophecy (Acts 2:16-21). He preached the Gospel to the people. When they heard, believed, repented and were baptized, they were added by the Lord to His church (Acts 2:22-47). All today who obey the same Gospel in the same way are added by the same Lord to the same church!

Scripture reveals this Church to be the one Jesus Christ built upon the rock of Saint Peter (Matt. 16:18). By giving Peter the keys of authority (Matt. 16:19), Jesus appointed Peter as the chief steward over His earthly kingdom (cf. Isaiah. 22:19-22). Jesus also charged Peter to be the source of strength for the rest of the apostles (Luke 22:32) and the earthly shepherd of Jesus' flock (John 21:15-17). Jesus further gave Peter, and the apostles and elders in union with him, the power to bind and loose in heaven what they bound and loosed on earth. (Matt. 16:19; 18:18). This teaching authority did not die with Peter and the apostles, but was transferred to future bishops through the laying on of hands (e.g., Acts 1:20; 6:6; 13:3; 8:18; 9:17; 1 Tim. 4:14; 5:22; 2 Tim. 1:6).
By virtue of this divinely-appointed authority, the Catholic Church determined the canon of Scripture (what books belong in the Bible) at the end of the fourth century. We therefore believe in the Scriptures on the authority of the Catholic Church. After all, nothing in Scripture tells us what Scriptures are inspired, what books belong in the Bible, or that Scripture is the final authority on questions concerning the Christian faith. Instead, the Bible says that the Church, not the Scriptures, is the pinnacle and foundation of the truth (1 Tim. 3:15) and the final arbiter on questions of the Christian faith (Matt. 18:17). It is through the teaching authority and Apostolic Tradition (2 Thess. 2:15; 3:6; 1 Cor. 11:2) of this Church, who is guided by the Holy Spirit (John 14:16,26; 16:13), that we know of the divine inspiration of the Scriptures, and the manifold wisdom of God. (cf. Ephesians 3:10).

The church is the Christians not the buildings. In a way he did because the Greek word that is translated church means simply the called out. the church is the called out body of Christ so since Jesus is the one that calls us out of sin you can say he invented the church.

There were synagogues before Jesus. While Jesus was on Earth he gave instructions, not to forsake the assembling of yourselves together with other believers and even more so as you see the day approaching. They met in houses at first. No a days that would be unpractical, so we have church buildings.

Churches existed long before Christianity, so Jesus certainly did not invent the idea.
Regarding the documentary, keep in mind that video equipment did not exist 2000 years ago. Whatever you saw was nothing more than a play based on the Bible.

No ido not think he invented church. His followers created christianity after his death. Then slowly people wanted to have a place to worship and created church.
My opinion only.
(to ask CJ a question: how can you say the catholics are not christian? they believe that Jesus was the son of god. they just have a different view of christianity. No, I am not catholic)
