Lack of (or refusal to use) critical thinking skills.

I am a Christian but I will tell you what bugs me the most about many fellow Christians (not all, they don't all do this):

when as a Christian someone has an opinion they don't agree with they say "that's a new Christian" (um, no, I've been a Christian since I was 13 and I am 36 now) or they'll say "That's not a real Christian" or "That's not a true Christian" (as if they are even qualified to judge).

It also bugs me when they "lovingly" inform others that by not following Jesus at all or not following him precisely the same way they do that those other's are actually devil-worshippers and are on the fast train bound for hell. See, just typing that makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over...NOT.

They never bug me Christians or non Christians if they take me for whom I am as a human, not for my belief, color, nationality, .....

I have seen here people who are atheists that are more bugging than Christians. You can say that all types of personalities exist in all groups.

I bug you? I'm sorry.
I thought I was pretty light-hearted, and non-judgmental.

It actually hurts to see some of my Atheist friends on here saying some of these things.
I'd never answer a question like this about them.

Thank you to the ones who said 'most' Christians.

Good for you Quella Bella™ I agree with you and you don't bug me at all but that must be because I am Catholic and we clearly have similar beliefs or the fact that you are very nice or maybe it's also because I am kind and don't carry myself in an ignorant manner :)

I answered a question recently about atheist and did not give a bad response I think...

Firstly their inclination to cling to pre-school beliefs without any intellectual support or reality-based evidence. Secondly their thrust to impose their beliefs and their corollaries on society as a whole and therefor on those who don't believe or support them. Thirdly their foolish inability to live with uncertainty, recognizing their own ignorance (the first step to wisdom). Fourthly their rejection of so much modern science (e.g. evolution) as mere "theory", and other people's opinions as mere "beliefs" - without any critical thought about their own position. Fifthly their common complete ignorance of other religions, or even of the history of their own! Sixthly, the way they take proprietorial possession of ordinary human values, such as "family values", or kindness, or spirituality, etc, as though none of these are possible without their own supernatural twists. And Finally, the way their claim for universal respect for even their less objectionable religious beliefs, actually provide a base for objectionable fundamentalism to claim similar protection. Quite apart from the tax breaks!

1) Hypocrites
2) Bertha better than thou attitudes
3) Self righteous attitudes
4) I'm a Christian!! I guess you can find good examples and bad apples in any group. Probably even atheists.

The one thing that bothers me most is that most Christians adhere to doctrine that a minister has interpreted, and allow this interpretation to colour all aspects of their life, from politics to the personal. They accept readily that something is divinely inspired and often do not stop to consider that what they are accepting as such is nothing more than the opinion of a man, no greater than themself.

Too many Christians are quite willing to abdicate responsibility of choice to another.

Which Christians? There are so many, and they have such varied opinions and behaviors.

Most of them are okay except for the bible-pounders who won't give it a freakin' rest with the:

- everybody's a sinner (yawn)

- everyone's going to roast in hell (ho hum)

- the bible is the true word of god (yeah, like you were there and got your's autographed?)

- Jesus Christ is our almighty lord and saviour, (zzzzzzzzz)

TOOOOOO much intensity makes toooo much crazy.
