I worked at Measured Progress through a temp agency. They said I was not motivated because I was not available for overtime, and terminated me for being "not motivated". With kids and family who has the time? I did work a Saturday.

I worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance through another temp. They terminated me saying I was "not productive". They track your productivity using Productivity Tracker, but no one assisted me in setting up so I could track my progress, then blame me for being "not productive".

These companies are ungrateful. After the time you've put in to find them and the background check and your sensitive information you've given out, they turn around and tell you to leave.

I called human rights and they tell me sorry, can't help you. Because your state is an employment at will state, and the companies do not accomadate you for having kids...you're out of luck, so go find a baby sitter even you don't have money. Sell your house even if its not saleable.

Perhaps your problem is one of blaming everyone else for your behavior. You had kids you can't support and its the governments fault. You took jobs you wouldn't work and that's the company's fault. Your house isn't sell able and that's the housing markets fault.

It is not a human right to be employed. When you don't exercise your human responsibility of not having children you can't pay for, then the consequences are that you don't get what you want.

Why not sell the computer? That would not only give you some cash but would allow you the freedom to not pay internet bills.

No one owes you anything. Stop making excuses for your bad behavior and find a solution. The message you are passing onto your kids is just going to make them another burden on the society that everyone else has to pay for.

Judging from the information you gave, it sounds unfair on both counts. I like to work overtime, as it's much better pay. But I have time to spare, so that helps. People in your position aren't as flexible, so it's obviously not as feasible to work overtime. The company shouldn't have faulted you for it, and surely shouldn't have fired you.

I'm curious, though, if they merely said "no motivation", and didn't cite any specific reasons, then I'm sure you can challenge the termination. That's seems to be a lame excuse.

The second one was "not productive". True, someone should've trained you in tracking your production. Contact them, ask their training department who was responsible for that task, and why wasn't it done.

I'm sure there's an agency that can help you. Maybe an employment commission of some kind. Check your yellow pages, or online websites for local companies.

Good Luck!

No, I dont think those companies are fair, but there isn't anything to do about it.That's the difference between the European nations + North America. The politicians here bend over backwards for Corporations and pretty much let them do anything where as in Europe the politicians do try to protect the public who elected them. Check out the difference in holidays, maternity leave and a multitude of other differences that truly make us unappreciated slave labour. The good news is because of globalization things are only going to get worse because there are millions of underemployed people in third world countries that we have to compete against. Hopefully in the future people will start standing up for themselves instead of now we act like sheeple and let corporations and politicians herd us where ever they want.

The companies are in business to make money. If you're not helping them to make money, for whatever reason, then I don't see why they should keep you on.

Of course, in our marketplace, you can let people know that these companies don't support & train their employees properly -and- we, as consumers, can let them know that we prefer to deal with companies that 'have a heart', by not buying their products or using their services.
