I just got a puppy and my 9 year old cat doesn't like him. They got into a fight and now my cat hids in her little room with her food. How can I get them to get along? Have any ideas or points?

well you'll have to back up totally. You broke all the rules of introducing a new pet. Keep them separated and introduce them very very gradually under very controlled conditions. Remember that the cat was there much longer. You can try crating the puppy and letting the cat investigate at his leisure. But under no means do what you did before and let them fight.

if they're going to get along it will take the cat time to adjust to this new "addition"....just let them work things out..just like people do..
