The comfort I feel if someone wishes to pray for me is only from the knowledge that the person doing so seems to care. It is otherwise a waste of time.

Yep!
It's better to be safe than sorry, right?
What if there is really God in the first place?!
Besides, I've read and heard of many accounts
of healing through prayer.
My life is on the line, and perhaps, even my soul.
It's worth trying on prayer for a change just before dying.

I am not an atheist but I don't want anyone praying for me. My God is smart enough to know what is in my best interest.

She does not need advice from anyone.

I have perfect faith in her judgment.

Love and blessings Don

If it makes you feel better, go for it, but please stay out of the way of anyone that may be doing something useful to try and save me or ease the pain.
