Why did Malcom X put away racism and violence after returning from Mecca? This would be also when he turned away from the teachings of NOI and accepted true Islam.

My point is that if Islam was inherently violent then it would take an already angry violent person and make them worse, but instead what it did was bring peace to a tortured soul.

His violence stemmed from his racism. He was not violent because of religion. When he was corrected about his racism, then he changed his violent ways towards white people.

We cant say if he would have agreed with terrorist attacks or not.

Wrong.

Malcomn X simply moved toward a different sect of Islam. The Nation of Islam murdered him because he stepped outside the command structure of Elaja Muhammad and had stole his thunder.

Any softening of his view of "whites" occured largely because of all the hippy "whites" who sucked up to him. They fawned over him at a time when the Nation was seeking to kill him for Allah.

X's trip to Mecca included a press conference. He used that opportunity to articulate softening views that he ALREADY EXPRESSED BEFORE going to Mecca which were the direct result of all the love he was getting from the free love hippy whites.

He simply USED the Mecca trip as a segway for introducing these newer views to his public consistuents.

EDIT:

DOORS OF PERCEPTION...think about the last thing you said.."if Islam really was violent, it would take a violent person an make him worse".

First of all, the reasoning there isnt very good, but lets suppose its so...uhh...Einstein...Islam did just that...Malcomn X was one of the most angry and hatefilled figures in American history. He was literally the face of outright warfare between the races.

In fact, the whole black rage movement is largely an Islamic movement. Martin Luther King sought to make the transition from Segragation to harmony in a largely civil manner...Islamic X sought to make it outright civil war...BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.

Your preaching to the deaf AND blind and dumb.....as for the verses in the surah bakara "the cow".....and to all such matters in the QURAN.......its the word of God.....God created you gave you life.....gave you your senses......your riches......gave you your joy....your misery...etc......and you turn around and call His true believers names......especially Prophet Muhammed (sal)....and you think you don't deserve those punishments.......of course they are not to be executed by us mortals....God will see to it on the day of Judgement....good hell hunting.....don't pull things out of context......and yes i think you people deserve whats stated in the quran and more.....i don't need to punish you or will i ever dream of it.....even if i tried i couldn't hurt you the way YOUR true God can.....know how your mother and certain people know what button to push to make you squirm......well this is YOUR God......be ready to find a few more rather quite astronomicaly PAINFUL buttons......

Maybe because one person doesn't represent an entire religious movement.

I'm guessing you're hinting at this. Say what you mean rather than implying it.

I know little about him, but I wonder if he didn't realize you catch more flies with sugar than with vinegar.

Why don't you read Qur'an?

Chapter 2, The Cow.

Tell me what it says about treatment of disbelievers and Jews.
