Not the church of Paul and James and John etc.

Why and how do they use the bible to claim some things that happen in mass to be unbiblical.

I can clearly see where the Eucharist is mentioned dozens of times in the bible. Thats just for starters.

It seems from a protestant point of view that Jesus really wanted to confuse people more than save them.

Hence calling Peter a rock that he would build his church on.

In Aramaic there is no different words for Rocks yet the protestants use a play on words in the Greek to explain this away.

Also just because Paul rebuked Peter just means that they had accountability nothing more.

Jesus mentions so many time, Eat my flesh, drink my blood, this is my body, unless you eat my flesh you have no part in me.

Even back then if he was being sybolic he would have said so as multitudes left him because they took him literaly. Guess what he meant it literaly.

It is not protestants, it is history.

In A.D. 606 old emperor Phocus, who was himself a murderer and an adulterer, appointed Boniface III as the first pope.

So if Peter was the first pope, then where is the lineage from Peter to Boniface III ????? Answer, there is none.

And please answer the following. If the catholic church is following the Bible (and gave us the Bible) then...

1. Why does it condemn clerical dress? (Matt. 23:5-6).
2. Why does it teach against the adoration of Mary? (Luke 11:27-28).
3. Why does it show that all Christians are priests? (1 Pet. 2:5,9).
4. Why does it condemn the observance of special days? (Gal. 4:9-11).
5. Why does it teach that all Christians are saints? (1 Cor. 1:2).
6. Why does it condemn the making and adoration of images? (Ex. 20:4-5).
7. Why does it teach that baptism is immersion instead of pouring? (Col. 2:12).
8. Why does it forbid us to address religious leaders as "father"? (Matt. 23:9).
9. Why does it teach that Christ is the only foundation and not the apostle Peter? (1 Cor. 3:11).
10. Why does it teach that there is one mediator instead of many? (1 Tim. 2:5).
11. Why does it teach that a bishop must be a married man? (1 Tim. 3:2, 4-5).
12. Why is it opposed to the primacy of Peter? (Luke 22:24-27).
13. Why does it oppose the idea of purgatory? (Luke 16:26).
14. Why is it completely silent about infant baptism, instrumental music in worship, indulgences, confession to priests, the rosary, the mass, and many other things in the Catholic Church?

The catholic church was formed out of the pagan Roman Empire when the church refused to give up the practices of the Romans (idol worship, hierarchy of leadership, roman dress, etc.)

ANSWER TO TG:

1.condemn clerical dress (Matt 23:5)? You should read that passage a little more closely and in context. Jesus is condeming the dressing for showmanship or boastfulness. The clerical dress that priests use is to simply indentify who our guides are, not to boast.

2.Against adoration of Mary? We do not worship or adore Mary what is due God alone. Your misconception, not our error.

3. All Christians priest (1 Pet 2:5,9)? The same can be said of the Levites in Exodus 19:5,6 "Now, if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own people. The whole earth is mine, but you will be my chosen people, a people dedicated to me alone, and you will serve me as priests." At a time when there was a sacraficial priesthood as well.

I'll let others correct you on these other points.

God Bless

I believe that the Catholic Church is very misunderstood. People often distort her teachings. If you study the Bible and the Catholic Church at the same time, you will see that the Catholic Church is reflected or prefigured numerous times. Most of the Mass comes from the Bible. However, the Catholic Church is not based on the Bible, rather we base our teachings on the teachings of Jesus as conveyed by the apostles. A brief study of history will show that all other Christian denominations are based on the teaching of men (Martin Luther, Calvin, King Henry VIII).

Catholics can learn a lot from their fellow Christians; however anyone who states that the Catholic Church was not the Church of the apostles is either mistaken or deliberately misstating the facts.

Protestants have a serious problem with the Primacy of Peter. The irony is if Catholics were to say that any of the other Apostles was the first Bishop of Rome, then Sola Scriptura adherents would then dispute that claim by referring to the very same Scriptural verses that Catholic presently use to prove the Primacy of Peter.

"However, there also came to be false prophets among the people, as there will also be false teachers among YOU. These very ones will quietly bring in destructive sects and will disown even the owner that bought them, bringing speedy destruction upon themselves.  Furthermore, many will follow their acts of loose conduct, and on account of these the way of the truth will be spoken of abusively.  Also, with covetousness they will exploit YOU with counterfeit words. But as for them, the judgment from of old is not moving slowly, and the destruction of them is not slumbering."

TG,

Are you trying to point out all your misinterpretations and eisegesis of God's Word? And, don't believe all the fanciful anti-Catholic history people like Loraine Boettner and Alexander Hislop write. They just hate Christ's Church and you should not associate yourself with those who hate what Christ has created.

Ignorance of their own ecclesiastical history is the biggest reason.

"There are not over a hundred people...who hate the Roman Catholic Church. There are millions, however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church."

When Christ said words to the effect of 'do this in my memory ' at the Last Supper, he creates the Eucharistic sacrament.
