It's slightly less than a pound a day, which is possible. Mostly you would be losing water weight though (cut out sodium, try and increase your walk to 3 miles daily or increase the pace). I think the heavier you are, the more easily you can take off weight as far as numbers go, because as I've said it's water you lose first (even if you're drinking lots, you won't retain as much if you provide more to your body). But, better to take it slow and lose weight over a longer period of time so you can keep it off than to drop it quickly and gain it back just as quick. Good luck though - losing weight is frustrating, but you can do it!

Anything more than 4 lbs a week has a HIGH risk factor of being regained when you get off your "weight loss" program, because it was lost too fast and likely in an unhealthy manner. One to 4 lbs a week can be done in a healthy manner, and thus with diligence can be kept off long term (also in a healthy manner).
By 7 Oct you could lose about 14 lbs if you work real hard...eat right but watch you calorie intake (do not drop it below 1200 a day) and exercise at least 1 hour a day at least 5 days a week. If you switch to 4 - 6 small meals a day, your body will burn even more calories because your metabolism is constantly working to process those little meals (rather than spiking up and down during the longer breaks between 3 larger meals a day).
Good luck!

That is under 4 weeks away!!!! To lose weight at a healthy rate you should only aim to lose 2lbs a week. Well done for choosing a healthy lifestyle for yourself but don't be in too much of a hurry. By 7th October you will have lost at least half a stone and I think that's great!!! Good luck!!

What's the big deal about Oct. 7? Maybe you should set a goal of 85 lbs in a year.

Good luck!

It doesn't matter what we think, you can only do it if you think you can. Try to focus on how well your clothes fit whether than the actual weight. If you're walking allot you're probably gaining muscle, which weighs more than fat.
