This question regards to the tragic events of 9/11 which showed us a glimpse of the cruel world we live. I as a Canadian Muslim completely share that human loss with my American friends. No matter what the differences maybe, such loss of innocent lives can never be justified what ever the cause. War remains to me as meaning less as possible.
America just few decades ago had the utmost respect as a Peace loving Nation. The role it played against Nazis in World War 2 must be lauded as it laid the foundation for a much more scientific, civilized and above all a Free World. I also pray that the so called Muslims turn back to the tolerant, compassionate, forgiving and loving nature of Islam as is mentioned by the western lady recently who is studying Islam.

I hope above all that 9/11 should give us all a better opportunity to self reflect and where the whole Human race is headed

Remember if we condemn one human, we condemn them all so its about time we classify Problems on a Human Level rather then Race, Color or Culture in my humble opinion. This is my prayer as we remember the Loss of life on 9/11. I also hope and pray for the safety of Iraqi Civilians and American soldiers.

To everyone -- notice that the questioner said prayer AND sympathies. There are plenty of other questions in which you can dispute the validity of prayer ... inluding one I just asked ... so feel free to be smart alecks there, because there's no need to be disrespectful and condescending about it here.

I went to a concert four days after 9/11/01, and the feeling of unity truly astounded me. Now, six years later, we're using a tragedy as just another excuse to argue about our petty differences.

Well, I'm with you ... I'll be praying ... regardless if anyone else think's its a waste of time. Its my time to waste, after all.

We as a nation can all forgive in ours hearts, but no own who lived through 9/11 will EVER forget the tragic images or reality of what took place that terrible day and no will forget who did it...its not a race or creed... its a small group of TERRORIST that murdered those thousands of people that day. The only one that needs to let the race thing go (I think) is you.....and yes i will pray for our nation on this day! The is no greater power than the power of prayer!

first and foremost those responsible will be punished eternally.

also must mention i do not believe al-kaida had anything to do with it this was executed with military precision that that was backed by the US government.

to any powerful authority lives are just numbers and you and i mean nothing to those people, the US government sacrificed those in the world trade center as well as the emergency services that tended to the tragedy.

it means kill a handful for the greater gain, Iraq, USA wants to rule the old Mesopotamia/Babylon to establish world domination. And once the Arabs are controlled then all the world will fall into place. A megalomanian mission is unfolding before our eyes and yet we ignore what is taking place.

yes..we need to remember the loss of innocent lives. And 9/11 isn't the only place that the militant ones have struck. There's been bombings in India, in Malaysia, a good friend of mine was killed in the Phillipines by muslim terrorists.

How many innocent folk died in Europe when one newspaper drew an editorial cartoon?

I want to believe Islam is tolerant, but I'm not seeing it in Europe.

I want to believe Islam is compassionate, but I'm not seeing it in words Iran uses about Israel.

I want to believe Islam is forgiving, but I'm looking at the muslim country I'm in TODAY...and seeing them wave posters of the towers going down.

So...I wonder...why do I hear so many positive things about Islam, but see so something different being carried out?

May Peace Prevail On Earth is an all inclusive message and prayer. It is a meeting place of the heart bringing together people of all faiths, backgrounds and culture to embrace the Oneness of our planetary family

Sure, they were innocent. But the actions of a small group of extreemists compared to the security of the world?
If I hd died in the towers, I would hope that my death wouldnt be an excuse to invade the middle east and kill thousands in revenge.

That was no excuse to invade Iraq, Afghanistan or Iran.

"America just few decades ago had the utmost respect as a Peace loving Nation" what guff.
They are a greedy warmongering nation.

I would rather be speaking german then thank the Americans for bombing Nagasaki and Hiroshima. They came too late to
save the Jews and stop the thousands of other nations who gave up their generation to the 2nd world war.

Your prayer would have been more sincere had you not mentioned the fact that muslims killed their family members and in the same breath say islam is tolerant, compassionate, forgiving, and loving nature. The people on 9/11 got to see how tolerant, compassionate, forgiving, and loving they were.

As a muslim, are you willing to openly disavow the aims of the extremists within your religion? I've heard many a muslim state their sympathy for the losses from terrorism, and even disdain for the terrorists themselves. I don't believe I've ever heard a muslim express that same disdain for the extremists that foster terrorists.
