Dreams are not really what they seem they are. Dreams are the things that happen during your day. The things that might be usual or unusual to you!! You speak to different people and you have different thoughts each day by day . These are some of the things that make up our dreams. Now blinds do not have the ability to see of-coarse. But that doesn't mean they don't dream. How do we know if they dream or not? well, in my opinion they of-coarse do!! For example, have you ever walked by a blind person without any noise and actually knew they have noticed you? I have! And I know they have noticed my presence. You're probably asking what the point is. Well, if they have such a strong sense and ability to notice things around them in not exactly the way you and I do then they dream about the things they tend to think about during their day. And that's what really makes up a dream. When you're dreaming, you're not necessarily seeing anything around you, but you're seeing the images that goes along with your thoughts that happened and were kept for the entire day. And that's what really dreams are!!! Dreams act as trash that the brain clears off the brain for more space!!

A blind persons dreams are visual only to the extent that they can see, or could see before their blindness, in their waking life. People who are blind from birth have dreams that are primarily auditory, with their other intact senses participating to about the same degree that they do in a sighted person's dreams. They do not, however, dream in visual images. People who are legally blind but are able to, say, see blurs of movement, light, and color would have a visual dimension to their dreams matching what they see when they're awake.

It depends on whether they were ever sighted. People who had sight but lost it have a sensory experience to draw from. People who have never experienced sight haven't a clue what that means.
When the first white men visited the Bushmen of the Kalahari desert, among the many strange things (like how they got and lived on so little water) was the language. The European visitors had never experienced a language that relied so much on clicks, they didn't know what to make of it. That kind of sound signal meant nothing to them. One explorer conjectured that bugs might be part of their food so the clicks during their talk were an on-going draw for crickets or something like that. Another supposed it was a nervous tick that was genetically inherited. It took a bit for Europeans to realize that they were enunciating words and the various clicks had nuance and meaning. I suppose if you didn't use sounds like that in your vocabulary it wouldn't mean anything to you. If a person was born blind, had never seen light, it isn't in their sensory vocabulary, so to speak.

perhaps if you were blind your whole life then that would be logical because you wouldn't know what anything looked like, so how would you be able to see anything in your dreams if you have never seen anything in reality? I would think that people who may be blind but have not been blind forever, then they could probably see.... right?

It all depends on whether they were born blind, or whther they lost thier sight. If they lot there sight, then they will still be able to see in thier dreams but if they were born blind, they most likely wont see what you and I see, but they may dream in words or just emotions.

no. All Blind peopl "see" in their dreams. They just cant describe it...especially if they are blind from birth. See their subconscience works just like ours...blindness has nothing to do with that. They just can't reconzie what it is they are seeing
