Our neighbor's son is 13 and is from the Domincan Republic and has been here for approx. 10yrs.
Another neighbor overheard an argument with his mom who is also Domincan, and the American husband, something to the fact that he was not going to jail because of them. It is obvious to all that he married her to get her here in the US. Apparently the son, does not have a "green" card, but yet has been living here and attending school. The young boy tells us that he can't go back to his country because they won't let him back. He usually goes every yr. to visit his sister's, aunts, family.
Could that be true? How illegal is this?
OH, get this, his mom ask me if my brother, who is single, would be interested in marrying her sister so that she can come to America!!! Of course they would pay lots of $ to do this.
I laughed so hard that I almost peed myself.

I am just curious as to what will happen to this boy as he gets older and why he cannot go back to visit his country?
It is my business when the child is so sad and comes to my kids and cries.
I did not hear the argument between his mom and his stepdad. This was told to me by the neighbors who live next door to them.

You are just repeating hear say and have no idea what is true. You did not hear the argument so how do you know what it was about.

It may very well be that they are there illegally. It also may be that they are there legal and proper.

You can have them checked and find out if everything is proper. Just call homeland security and tell them what you know. Not what you think but what you know.

I don't know what will happen to him if he is here illegally. But it really doesn't sound like he is here illegally, so you could hire an immigration lawyer or call the INS and ask them what will happen to him when he gets older. Or you could simply welcome him into your home as any other friend of your son's and mind your own business.

It could be true or not. What is it to you? Mind your own business and don't marry illegal aliens!
