I would like to move to the usa, but I don´t have a green-card. Is it possible to live and work there legally as a secretary f. e. without a green-card? If it is possible, could anyone tell me what I would have to do?

You need a work visa (H1B visa) you need a form of higher education/highly needed skills for this visa. The US employer has to prove that they can NOT get an American to do the job.

I am sorry to say but I don't think working as a secretary would fall under a H1B visa

To get a green card you have to be sponsored for that by the US employer. For both the green card and the visa you can not sponsor yourself

you could stay and paintings legally interior the united states of a devoid of eco-friendly card, yet you do desire a visa to stay and paintings interior the united states of a in case you're actually not a citizen. in many situations a secretary does no longer have the potential to be backed for a paintings visa, yet once you have some particular skills (e.g. conversing key distant places languages that are required for a secretary for a business enterprise doing international business enterprise), you could have the potential to be backed for a paintings enable, via fact the business enterprise could have a stressful time looking a secretary who speaks that language. considering that there are rather few individuals who talk good German, this could be a sensible option for you, in case you would be working with the two the US branch of a German business enterprise, or with another business enterprise that does somewhat some business enterprise in Germany (or Austria or Switzerland).

You can apply at large businesses that offer foreigners to work for their business and they will take care of the immigration process. If they do, you'll get a conditional green card, that allows you only to work for them. If you want a extra job for supplementary income, it won't be possible.
You really need to be an asset to the business will they start that process, for it's very costly, especially since the fees almost have triples since last July.
The other option is dating an American and file for a K-1 visa and than marry him/her, but I would only suggest that, if you do it for love reasons and not immigration reasons.

well... considering a lot of people do it lol. i guess you could. but you can try to find some chick that's down on her luck and have her fall in love with you? lol then you can get a greencard lmao. but um... i seriously think that if you move to colorado or something no one would care. all we care about is if you can speak english and you obviously have that down a little bit... unless you used a translator then tsk tsk lol

You should do it legally. If I suspect someone is illegal I report them to INS. I think everybody should too because they are criminals.
