Should the occasion be marked by everyone with a few moments of quiet reflection on the evil people will sometimes do in the name of religion?

And we might usefully use the time to remember that 9/11 wasn't the first atrocity perpetrated in the name of religion, and it won't be the last.

Your thoughts?

Bush told us that God told him to invade Iraq. And check out the history of the word "crusader".

In the name of the Christian god, Bush is creating a lot more orphans than he is orphanages.

Yes, I think we should all mark the occasion with at least a few moments of quiet reflection.

No, it wasn't the first atrocity perpetrated in the name of religion...it's astounding to me the length to which some depraved people will go to justify their evil. To use RELIGION as a justification...it's mind-boggling.

There's great evil in the world...all anyone can do is try to be GOOD and overcome it.

well..., the way you write it, you put religion as awhole in that corner. sorry to be discriminative but if you watched christian amanpour's show, that was the same thing she was doing. muslim terrorists say they should kill kill and kill all those you are not for them. so as to get to their paradise. christian crusaders go about preaching (not by force) to come and expirience their faith and the joy they have with the lord jesus christ.
when last did you see any bombing caused by a good movement of christians. our law says. love your enemies and do good to those you despise you. christians create orphanges, child enhancement schemes and muslim so-called martyrs love to kill themselves and other people with them, other people that are not partakers of their faith!plzz in God's name when you talk about the causes of 9/11, NEVER put religion as a whole bcoz religion has many phases. if you don't belive that there is a God and his son jesus christ who died for our sins then you have to keep it to yourself and call islam when you talk about terrorists and 9/11
