Now let me explain something to those of you who may have faith but are very simplistic and don't understand the enormous and complex reality that we live in. There are many people out there whos intellects are pretty much huge, and can blow us out of the water, they design economic structures, affect the world system, own lots of money and are generally very powerful people.

How they operate? Million of thoughts a minute, very fast paced, and if they use their thoughts and abilities for evil, they can accomplish lots and fool many, to get their way. Agressive I guess.

This somewhat describes the devil, out there like a "roaming lion" seeking to devour whoever, yadda yadda.
there are many faithless people out there, who ONLY get by on their intellect.

How do you fight something that's so strong? You can't really go to a corporation and blow it up LOL.

My faith made me a bit "different," and that made people laugh at me, because I seemed out of the norm.

:sigh:

People judge you on your outsides, on how you speak , etc, they come to all these assumptions on your class, education level, etc etc, and if they sense you're sub-par to them, they pretty much treat you like crap.

I've had this happen.

That's not godly, but there's no way in hell you can really do anything but walk away.

Guess what? These days, "Evil" walks around in a suit and carries a briefcase, and can chew us out in 3 seconds.

How do we deal?

To Live backwards is "evil". You can find peace by not judging anyone and choosing not to be affected by anyones actions or words. Words have no power unless you give them power!

Uh, yeah, perhaps trying to get a grip on reality first would help. Most corporations are not inherently evil nor are they acting to do anything else except gain a profit. There is not a conspiracy to dominate the world or spread "evil" while making money. I'd say that at high levels money isn't that important, it's just a score card.

But if you're worried about dealing with intellectuals, your first step should be to learn all that you can and develop your analytical reasoning. While difficult, it is not impossible. Try to avoid taking things at face value, instead look for motivations and alternative meanings, for example the statement "Four out of five dentists prefer X" - While this sounds good, it doesn't tell you how many dentists were surveyed or anything about the actual survey.

Good luck.

what makes you say that these intellectual people are the devil?

when did knowledge and intellect become the work of the devil?

sorry to make you feel bad, but that sounds ignorant.

you're projecting your insecurities onto those who you find smarter than you, and coin them as evil just because you feel inadequate.

i suggest you take some time to understand your belief and faith before coming out and conveniently throw in the "if you're intellectually superior to me you're the devil" excuse.

You speak as though we should fear intellectuals and never desire to be one. Are you insane? Are you suggesting that all intellectuals are what you call 'evil'?
Please, describe to me the correlation between a person's intellect and their moral conditioning.

The only thing that can make a good man do evil things is religion.

So you see intellectuals as a threat? If your faith is shaken by people who are smart, then I think the problem is with your faith. Are smart people supposed to act dumb to accomodate your insecurities? Of course not.

Counselling would help for starters Luke. You don't need to take on the devils minions, make yourself strong first, then help others in this world, one at a time. Simple works best.

Instead of whining about your own lack of intellect and learning, do something about it. Read. Study. Get an education.

and I hate to break it to you, but manipulative religious intellects can be some of the worst ones...

Intelligence does not equal evil and I think the Bush administration proves my point there.

Strengthen your faith in God, because "He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world." It is the Lord who can tear down strongholds. 1 Cor. 1:25 ..."foolishness of God is wiser than men..." And remember this, the prayers of a righteous man prevails much. Read Ephesians 6 and put on the full armor of God and stand. The wicked will be as straw (chaff) to the consuming fire of God. You, my friend, have a hereafter. All they have is this earth and torment hereafter.
