Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Who was the God of the "Old" Testament?
1 Corinthians 10:1 Moreover, brothers, I would not that you should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized to Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

John 1:1 states:
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
The Word is Jesus Christ and as God he never changes His Word because, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever" Heb. 13:8
Since Jesus never changes and He is the Word his Word would never change.

The short answer: he didn't.
If you do a little research, you will discover that we still have today in existence over 2,300 copies of the New Testament in its original (Greek) language that date from before the time of Constantine or any of the church councils which approved the canon of scriputre. Plus another 86,000 documents (letters, commentaries, litergies, prayer books, rites, inscriputions, etc) that contain quotes from the NT all produced during the first generations of the Christian faith.
When the existing manuscripts are compared, they agree with each other 99.7% of the time. Of the 0.3% differences, the majority are either different spellings of the same word, or the reversing of words such as "Jesus Christ" and "Christ Jesus". There are fewer then 40 lines in the over 7000 of the NT about which there is any debate. It is the most documented and supported ancient work in existence.
It has been translated many times. But the majority of those translates have gone back to the original manuscripts for their source. The Bible is NOT a translation of a translation of a translation. Rather each good translation (and there have been some bad ones) has gone back to the original manuscripts and translated from there.
If you take the time to compare several of the modern translations, you will see that they agree with each other as far as doctrine and content. Where they differ is in "style". For example, an English Bible prepared for use in Britian will vary some from an English Bible designed for use in America because the English language varies between those two countries.
Also, if a word for word translation of the Bible was made, it would be almost impossible to read in English. For example, the Old Testament is written in Hebrew, which reads for right to left. So every line of such a translation would have its words written backward. ( read to hard them makes of Kind )
So there will some variation between Bible that are as literal as possible (but difficult to read), and those that are more readable, but may miss some of the finer points and shades of meaning of the literal version. That is why it is good that we have so many accurate and reliable translations today.

The Word has always been with God. It cannot and never has changed. You mistake mans words, which always change, with the Word that is changeless. Be Still and you may possible hear the Word which is permeating all of creation.

The Gospel is the Word of God. " ... So Jesus answered them and said, " My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me.
If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself.
He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
Did not Moses give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why do you seek to kill Me? " ............ John 7:16-19.
"... For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion sought for a second.......................
When He said, A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear."...............Hebrws 8:7,13.

He didn't, Man did. When the Chinese scholars changed it from Aramaic into Latin into Chinese and then to English for King John. And then King John had it rewritten so he could understand it better.
