I do not have enough time to produce a resume - in time for the impending job fair. Its it a waste of time going to the job fair if I have nothing but my person????

Job fairs in tough economies are pretty much a waste of time anyway. Without a resume your chances of landing a good job are about the same as if you go and stand on the corner yelling, "I want a job!"

Throw together an information sheet that has name, contact info, objective and quick highlights of your career and experience. At the bottom put Resume and References Available Upon Request. The novelty of this approach might get you a few calls.

But go and gather business cards and then you can plan a real strategy for getting interviews in these companies.

Yes, you really should have a resume. But I'd still go to the job fair for experience. And you can always take the names of the firms that interest you and ask to whom you should address your resume.

It really doesn't take that long to do a resume as there are lots of aids on Microsoft word etc to help you out.

Yes. Recruiters will be expecting any 'serious' candidates to bring that kind of stuff with them. The really organised people look at the websites of the careers fairs and contact the recruiters to pre arrange meetings/interviews at the event.

You should have a resume present. You had the time you did not use your time wisely. Make time if you want a job.
