No. I was in Washington, DC, working at the Department of Labor on 9/11. So usually on 9/11, instead of silence, I remember the victims by telling my story - of the fear and uncertainty, of being evacuated, and of the loss of people in my community.
It always bothers me that people remember the World Trade Center Victims so vividly, but the people who perished at the Pentagon tend to get forgotten.
And the focus on the NYFD and like ignores the brave first responders who came and worked day and night to save lives at the Pentagon.
Lest we forget. Passengers on that plane included members of a local grade school class bound out of town on a school trip.
An aquaintance of mine worked in an office at the Pentagon - they were getting ready to move to a new office in Crystal City. She was at the new offices when the plane hit - almost straight on her office. She was the only survivor of the office.
People had to crawl out of the twisted burning portion of the building. Many of the survivors are permanently scarred from the third degree burns they suffered, and the losses of friends and family they endured.

Living very close to the Pentagon at the time the whole day will be a day of silence and remberance for me. I pray for those of NY, DC, and Penn who went through that horrible day.
