I've been working for many years but I work in contract security and its a very unreliable job. After 4 years I'm not making any more money then when I started and they lose sites all the time so I have to keep switching around. I am a good worker who has never called off a day and always get good praise but don't seem to be going anywhere. Also in this line of work if you ask for a raise they say the only way you get a raise is if they sign a new contract that pays more, but the problem is that rarely happens or they lose the site altogether. I need to get in a new field but I can't seem to get my foot in the door. I can do pretty much anything, computer skills, hardwork, telephone it doesn't really matter.

Good jobs for people with only HS diplomas are becoming increasingly rare.
You could try being a driver or courier. You could step it up a little and get a CDL. The pay for a driver is a bit better if you have one.
A lot depends on the region you live in. Some areas pay better for low skilled work than others.

Truck driver. If you have a clean driving record, there are many companies that will pay for you to attend truck driving school in exchange for signing a contract to work for their company afterwards for a period of time.
Car Salesman - if you have good looks and a good personality and very likeable, this could be a very good paying career; downside, you are usually only paid on commission. Upside, if people like you and trust you the sky is the limit as to how much you can earn.

You just have to pay for training, But there is alot of Income to be made, I quit my Day job a few years ago to work for Arise (Known as WillowCSN at the time). I take calls for AARP Auto, CSAA Auto and Apple
