Seriously, I've seen so many people on this site judge others about anything from breastfeeding to spanking. Ultimately, you cannot decide what is best for someone else's children. How you choose to raise your child is none of my business, and me choosing to breastfeed or spank my child is not your business.

I think it's rude that people can come one here, and just be so disrespectful.

Mainly this stems from someone comparing spanking to what happened to Kelsey Briggs. Kelsey was not given a light tapping on the bottom. She was kicked violently in the stomach. How can someone not see how different that is? It just isn't fair that mothers are being attacked on here for spanking or chosing not to breastfeed.

Sorry, I'm pregnant, hormonal, and frusterated.

Totally agree!! I am very opinionated on here too, but I always state that I am expressing my opinion. People can take that for what it's worth. I'll say what works for me, which many might not agree.

Your right about Kelsey Briggs - At one point she had TWO broken legs, hardly a spanking that occurred. That poor child was beaten to death by a scum sucking step father. Not all step parents are bad, but it just seems many single women pick POS people to get remarried too. Seems like when the news comes out that a child has died at the hands of abuse, it's a step parent or boyfriend/girlfriend behind it. Just Horrible.

Most of the women that get these opinions are ones who asked questions pertaining to the subject. There is definitely a difference between a spanking and abuse, and breatfeeding is a natural thing that people have taken way out of context.

I personally think that no parent should have to "ask" or beg their kid to behave, and they should definitelky not have to say anything ore than once. Some kids need their hides tanned in order to get the point across, others understand a simple instruction and will listen. Our society is so backwards. They would rather have a disrespectful, mouthy, downright rotten kid than give them a smack on the *** from time to time.

Oh congratulations on the pregnancy hope everything goes well. And yes I totally agree, it is not our business to judge or tell other people how to raise their children. I personally did not breast feed, and I do not believe in spanking my children. I am not saying that othe parents are abusers, or in the wrong for spanking their children, it is up to them whether they want to or not. But I also think that is the person asks a question then people are allowed to express their opinion on that subject or matter. I don't think calling them rude, or vulgar names is appropiate, but protesting against their matter is fine.

Congratulations again on the pregnancy and I know how you feel. I was in the same position three months ago! I just had twins....again.
Good Luck, best wishes to you and your family.

We all have issues that we feel strongly about. I'm sure that you feel you have the right to express your opinion about certain parenting decisions that you disagree with. For example, people who are quick to say, "don't judge me for my decision to bottle feed!" are the quickest to pass judgment on mothers who continue to breastfeed past the arbitrary age bracket.

The beauty of a website such as this is that it allows for us to express our true beliefs and thoughts without societal pressures. Wouldn't you think it a benefit for there to be a forum where people can say what they ACTUALLY think, instead of what's polite?

I like the fact that I can come here and get some HONESTY, instead of the politically correct jargon that is so prevalent everywhere else.

Essentially, aren't you being openly judgmental of judgmental people? My point is, EVERYONE is deep down judgmental about something that is important to them, but the internet allows for them to be more open about it.

Of course you're right - but I think questions about children, especially anything that has the slightest whiff of abuse causes people to see red. FOr instance, you mention spanking - I am totally and utterly against spanking of any sort!! I feel that any kind of hitting by an adult to a child is abuse - a case of 'I'm bigger than you so there'.

"Because my way is the right way, and you're an idiot if you don't agree and do it my way." Ah, the internet, where nobody knows your name, what you look like, how old you are, or where you live. We can say whatever we want to say without fear of reprisal. What's the worst that can happen? Our account gets deleted and we have to go make another one.

Too many people hide behind that anonymity and just spout crap they wouldn't say to another person face-to-face. Too many people come here just to spout crap, with no intention of even attempting to help anybody else.

You have nothing to apologize for. Something irritated you and you vented. Done that myself. Actually I just did again in the previous paragraph and I'm not apologizing for it.

It's hard for anyone to see outside their own beliefs and some people feel very strongly about these issues.
A lot of people don't realize that they are being rude, but there are always a few people who do it just to make others feel bad, just like in the real world.

Everyone is openly judgmental because this is the internet. Nobody has to take credit for their actions, nor how they make other people feel. They can overreact and go hog wild with any belief they choose to support.

The very fact that you're upset about it, yet still here, shows the same behavior. In real life you avoid people like that. Welcome to the internet.

the people that have no problem being so openly rude and judgmental, are those people that in real life would just keep their mouth shut, for fear of actually confronting someone face to face...they are the same people who probably walk by when they see someone doing something bad to someone/something!
opinions are wonderful...and this site is made for people expressing their variety of opinions...but hurtful remarks are unnessecary...people on here, take it upon themselves to ASSUME they know someone or know about each and every situation!
