Consider this:
An omnipotent being has no needs, therefore creating the universe doesn't solve any problem
An omniscient being knows everything, so creating a universe doesn't allow god to gain any insight or learn anything.
So why put us through all the trouble, god gains nothing and learns nothing by creating a universe?
