i have just started a new job, knowing i'm going on an exchange to germany in nov. how do i tell them?

they're all such lovely people to work with - what kind of employer gives a someone so young a chance??
i really don't know how to tell my boss, who is great. =] i don't plan on telling them until at least 2 weeks until i go.
because i'm casual, should i stop stressing??

So - now you know that next time, you tell them up front!

Because it's only a casual job, you shouldn't stress too much about how it will affect them. If it suited them to cut you off with no notice, they would do it. I'm not saying that you should be the same, but just - don't stress about it.

Best would be to tell them now, because you already know and if you were in their position, you know that they would like to be informed.

Perhaps you think they they will fire you or treat you differently if they know you are going. If so, they aren't really that great after all, are they?

If you can't take the risk of telling them now, then just let them know 2-4 weeks ahead of time, so that they have time to arrange and train a replacement and they don't feel like you have dumped them in it.

Don't worry to much on great opportunities coming. It is a gift from God. You are so lucky and blessed. There are so many individuals dying to land a good job, but they failed.
What to do???
1. Evaluate for every event regarding advantages and disadvantages. Which is better and what is your heart desires.
2. Humble yourself before your current boss by revealing a new offer from Germany. This will help if you do this at early time.
3. How to tell your boss?, Ask him about the offer, as if he is in your shoe. Boss if you are offered to go to Germany, are you willing to accept it? or perhaps you can improve more.

Hope you don't need them for a reference because you have just burnt your bridges if you tell the truth. But telling the truth doesn't seem to be one of your long points. . .
