I'm 19 turning 20 in a few months.I've suffered from Iron deficiency since I was about 13 and have gotten quite a few blood tests done since then.Lately I've noticed that I seem to bruise quite easily even to the extend that my last blood test left me with a bruise from the needle which has never happened to be before and I didn't lift anything heavy all day like the told me too.I've been having sinus infections and colds pretty much all this year and my immune system just seems really week. The last time I cut my thumb it bled for ages and I seem to get bone pain a lot.My last blood test was to look at my hormone levels mainly as well as my iron levels in the blood and came back fine for everything. If I did have leukaemia would it show in the test?If this isn't leukaemia, what could it be?

It could be anemia. It could be...it could be...
See a doctor if you are worried.

No one here can diagnose you...

You say you have suffered from an iron deficiency for 6 - 7 years.

You don't give any indication of the cause for this. Was it dietary? Or is there an underlying health issue?

You have ben run down enough to have had colds and sniffles on and off all year, you feel you bleed excessively and bruise easily, and you get aches and pains.

Your blood tests say you are fine.

You could be a hypercondriac.
You could have some underlying health issue that you and your doctor are aware of.
You could have something as yet undiagnosed. If this is the case, then go back to your Dr and ask for a follow up on your blood tests and get his diagnosis of your condition, rather than guesses by people who don't know your full history.

It doesn't sound like leukemia. I think the blood test for iron levels in the blood would be abnormal if you had leukemia. Also, sometimes when you have a cold or sinus infection, your platelets will be lower thus causing you to bruise easily. If your immune system was really weak, you would be having pneumonia instead of just colds and sinus infections.

It seem as though you need go into the hospital so that they may run more test. Try your local cancer Prevention Center. I think once they rule out cancer you will feel much better, and you could go on from there.

You probably need to just take iron vitamins. If you are having blood tests regurlarly they will show if you need further testing.

Ive been anemic all my life by nature. Doc's always just told me to take vitamins.

You should talk to your doc if you have real concerns.
