the word, so does that mean you pray for 199,000 iraqis?
and once again, judging whos innocent in "war" is pointless. You might as well fight over whos religion is better or who can grow their beard longer.

Sanart, so killing in gods name is ok, justified by yourself and other christians? justified not by god himself.
iraq is now a religious war with the U.S. targeting Satan? hell, i thought it was over oil.

margulise, I am not blaming christians entirely..that wouldn;t be fair. I see some christians as part of the problem though. Many of them talk about how evil muslims are as if that is justification for killing lots of them when only a few are evil. It is true however....christians and muslims talking senseless trash to eachother...you don't see any other group(athiest, pagan, buddhist or hindu on here saying "the muslims are evil"...havn't seen a answer yet like that(i've seen many Christian related ones tho)

Don P, I couldn't agree with you more on everything you said. Although, I would have to say that some war hungry fake christians(George Bush, Franklin Graham., etc.) are institgating and still promoting the problem with not just the Jihadists, but the whole middle east. Great Answer

It is unfortunate that according to the doctrine of most Protestant Christian demonimations, one cannot pray for the dead. To them there is no purgatory, limbo, or reincarnation, no second chances. If you haven't accepted Christ while you were alive, you're just toast, and presumably not worth worrying about any longer. For many Christians, even if you never accepted Christ because you never heard of Him, never said "the sinner's prayer," (which isn't in the Bible, by the way), or even because you died before being baptized, that is too bad... you're still doomed to Hell with no chance of redemption.
One unfortunate consequence of this doctrine is that it discourages compassion for those of other faiths, who, because of this doctrine, are usually seen as "sinners" needing to be "saved" (according to the individual Christian's particular practices or doctrines). That means of course that they are somehow inferior, less moral, even "unclean." That is unfortunate.
Many Christians endeavor to love and help those who have not heard of Christ or "accepted Him as their Savior." Many understand that it is at least as important to minister to the needs of the poor and disadvantaged as it is to "bring them into the Kindom." Many run soup kitchens to feed the hungry, or build orphanages to rescue children from poverty. These, in my opinion, are true Christians, doing the work of Christ on Earth, regardless of what they believe about the Bible, or even if a person doing such good works is Jewish, Muslim, Hindu or Atheist.
Unfortunately, there are also those who pervert Jesus' (and other religious) teachings and bring hatred, war, and murder to those who do not share their beliefs. Examples include the "Christian" crusaders and the Spanish Inquisitors and conquistadors, the Muslim invaders of the middle ages and the Muslim extremist Jihadists of today.
It is ironic that a small-time hood, a man for whom I have no respect at all, Rodney King, was able to sum up the teachings of all the world's greatest religions in just a few words, words that every decent human, religious or otherwise, should live by: "Can't we all just get along?"

Having the leader of a country claim he has his god on his side, while committing an act of revenge against OBL who claims to have his god on his side, certainly muddies the water if one is to claim it is not a religious war. The death that the Iraqi civilians are suffering now is much higher than when their tyrant (not connected to 9/11) was in charge.
I ask any US citizen what would they do, if they were being occupied by a Muslim country who came in and killed their entire family - would they submit or be brave resistance fighters or AKA insurgents?
As for the person claiming Stalin as an atheist, he had his own dogma very comparable to religion, he never committed one act in the name of atheism, you cannot say the same about tyrants who are religious, they claim religion as their justification. Stalin never claimed the irrelevant fact he was an atheist ever influenced his actions.
I would hope christians don't waste time praying, that instead they get out on the streets and protest against the needless killing that their leader started.

That is exactly what I say all the time. When 5 people die on this side everybody makes a terrible fuss for weeks but they never show the innocent women, children, elder people and even innocent men who die every day at a battle field of a war that is just as foreign to them as the soldiers fighting on it. I can't understand how poeple can be so blind to see the label before seeing the person. Muslim, Hindu, Christian, whatever the hell they believe in we still are people.

Anyone (christian or not) who presumes to judge and know were anyone "goes" when they die~ If they are judging they should check the plank in their own eye. We (as Christians) are not supposed to judge (unfortunately-most of us do-which just puts a bad taste for God in peoples mouths...not His fault but our own). Re the 200,000 Iraqis- I pray for their families and friends suffering a huge lose.
PS- this question sounds like you blame Christians for the loss of life over there.....do you remember why this war started in the first place?

There is no need to pray for the dead , but we can pray for the living.
Once a person is dead there is nothing more that can be done to them.
In that way they are in peace.
The Bible doesn't in any way support the idea of a burning hellfire place or torture.
That is a pagan teaching , another lie from Satan and the religious organisations that follow him.

Praying for the dead only makes sense if there is a purgatory -- I'm not a Roman Catholic, but I'll honestly research the doctrine and let you know what I conclude (rather than relying on preconceptions or things I've previously been taught).

You sound somewhat puzzled. study the Bible and it will all make experience to you, sometime.

I pray for all human beings. Especially children wrongfully misused by adults and/or trained in warfare.
All wars have casualties. I pray for peace where God allows, because there will be no true peace while Satan rules on earth. But , as it is written, his time is ending and soon.

I doubt it, they're busy criticizing Muslims . their own army over their killing Muslims and apparently we're the ones at fault. lool. because you know 10 out of the Hijackers were Iraqi, Oh no wait a minute. They were Saudi, nm.
the saudis are already buddies with G.Bush so they already have Oil Agreemants done and made, but Iraq was being bad and didn't want to give oil to America so they had to send their boys over there to steal it for them.
