The good thing with Canadian immigration is that if you have enough money, it's usually a pretty easy process. Best thing you can do is go to the Canadian consulate and ask about immigration specifically from Russia. You'll need a police check for her in her own country and several documents but if you do it completely the first time, it's not a long process.

Any advice, right? Okay, two words:
Ballroom Dancing.
Russian ladies are heavenly in every way but somehow lose confidence in themselves when they hit mid-life. HOWEVER! I have yet to see a Dazzling Ruskie girl who sticks to dancing EVER let herself fall into self-doubt during those difficult years. Please forgive the bluntness.

Go meet her family first.
My son married a girl from Eastern Europe (I am not picking on them since my husband and dad are from the east and I now even live there) anyways, my husband and I met her family too late,just before the wedding in fact. If we met them first we would of kidnappened our son to save him from a terrible marriage.
as it turned out, wewere right and his wife just used him for cash, prizes and a green card. He wasted 5 years of his youth and is a bitter man now.

mail-order bride? taking her from a country she knows will be very emotional, yet thrilled too. ask her if English classes or any other class she might like to take. hobbies? make suggestions, don't assume, let her choose. maybe make a packet filled with info and history of the area you will be living. maps with photos. numbers that she will need. cell phone with your number programed in it (maybe program her mums number ( a comfort thing) yes, i know its Russia, but this is huge.teach her to drive and get her DL..if she has a child, do the same ( well, not the drive thing yet..)

green card chaser don't do it unless you go and try her out let say couple of yrs then see my friend got frayed after she got here accused him of hitting her files police reports behind his back then went to INS and served a copy of divorce as a battered wife served the husband at work she cleaned bank account house and moved with her new friend bettered wife so she can stay and keep her green card status without fear of deportation after divorcing her husband all up to you all the police reports were fraudulent but INS took them a gospel he was never intervied by police or arrested she always declined prosecution

You also have to meet her in person as they don't do arranged marriages. In the US they can get a Fiance's Visa but have to go back in 90 days if they haven't married!
