Quite obviously, a platypus, I've always had this intense empathy with them... If, already being a platypus, that is out of the question, then I'd go for being an echidna. A back full of spines is almost worth loosing my poison.

The best animal to be is a dog because humans treat them so well. But Falcon or Eagle is a close 2nd.
