1) Cheat on their spouse or other people in business transactions
2) Talk gossip about others
3) Jack off and basically waste sperm - and by some peoples' definition that is murder
4) Have abortions
5) Listen to rap that degrades women and acting on the song's words
Etc......
you get the point! People claim to be religious, whether they be Jewish or Christian, but deep down they evince some sort of skepticism, because otherwise they would not do many of these things. Think about it, if you really believed God existed and there was a heaven and a hell, would you still have that abortion, or talk that gossip?

I didn't think so....

Capitan Enzeru: Regardless of whether you do or don't do the things I mentioned, there are MANY things that are bad that you DO do that you would not do if you really believed there was a God.

It's definitely a double-standard for most Christians I've met. They steal (from the church, each other, stores, etc.), cheat on their spouses, gossip horribly about other people, etc.

if only they'd try to live like atheists... doing what's right because it's the right thing to do, not just on Sunday or when it's convenient.

You are correct.

Because the majority of people cant even identify who or what God really is , they have no chance for a solid relationship with him.
This is because Satan has a world of false religion that deliberately teaches lies about God.

The purpose? -- To mislead mankind away from serving the true God - Jehovah.

So instead man just bumbles around doing what they feel is right and discounting and watering down the commands of God.
When the Bible says not to murder , they say , 'lets go to war' instead.

But never mind , ALL people not living up to the standards of God as set forth in the Bible will not have a long and happy future.

For the Bible says that soon a time is coming when all these sort , and Satan himself will be done away with , leaving only true God fearing people alive on this Earth.

What we need to do is follow all of the requirements of Jehovah and serve him the way HE wants , according to what is written in the Holy Scriptures and reject Satan and his pagan false religions of the world.

That is your assumption. I have had too many Holy rollers in my life shaking their rosary beads at me while telling me to f@#* off or that I am going to hell because I am not thier religion.

I believe in God, I just do not flaunt it. I tolerate all religions and I repsect people who earn my respect.

Not all believers are do-gooders, some use their religion to justify their actions and some believe they can commit crimes against society and all they have to do is ask God's forgiveness and they will go to heaven over someone of another religion.

Personally, being religious is not the factor that makes me treat others the way I want to be treated. I like being a productive person that refuses to be a low life.

I disagree ... why? Because if we can do all these things of our humanistic selves, why do we NEED the intercession of Jesus Christ, on our behalf [Christians]. Christianity is not about "do's & don't's" - it's about faith, grace & Jesus Christ ... about a spiritual relationship with God, the Father.
We are all ... human beings - not human doings !!! The Jewish, religious leaders at the time of Jesus Christ, had their religious traditions, means and ways ... they ended up having the very Son of God put to death. Humanistic - self righteousness does NOT "cut-it" with God.
Christianity is all about who you are - not what you do !!! Christianity is about relationship and is a state of being !!!

The Spirit is willing - but the flesh is WEAK !!!

I agree... But, remember we are still bonded by this flesh and the "original sin". How can you be better than the way you know, sin has infected the blood line. We all need to try and become better individuals.

Youv'e left out -Abusing children, and depraved sexual acts, comitted by priests etc. If the Pope condones that, it doesn't say much about what they believe. But we all get our just desserts on Judgement Day.
