My hubby is deployed too...omg packages are so fun!

USE FLATRATE BOXES! So much cheaper and you can stuff them full of anything..

I sent my guy nerf footballs, squirtguns, gummy snacks, bottles of expensive fiji water, chips, cookies, muffins, candy...
TOWELS from the hotel i work at (he really liked that)
LOTS OF GUM (they dont always have time to brush their teeth)
A home made CD with every package
phonecards...tons of them
Razor refills
I did one box full of home made cookies for him to share with his flight
Fruit Snacks!
Powerade/Gatorade
Send those toothpicks with the floss on it...my guy loved those...
um diaper wipes...they dont always get to shower...or are outside all day and whatever...
extra toothbrushes...
cards...
ANYTHING to make him feel at home. pictures, kisses on a sheet of paper...a song lyric...a letter dowsed in your perfume...my guy liked when i would draw him a comic of my day...
you could send him some soft pillowcases...
even little items like a packet of ketchup from your guys favorite place to eat would make him smile (my guys sister sent him some from in & out burger and him and another guy like almost cried together over it)

i used to send lists of why i love him, or what i miss about him being home, or what about him makes me smile.

great site for support of deployed hubbies...
tons of ideas and other people going though the same thing

haha hope that helps. Have fun with the packages. stay strong and keep positive

a little trick for the customs form...dont put everything you have in that box on it...just to make your life easier...just like the bigger things or a general name...lol.

a pillow! we sent candy and gum we sent a few whoopee cushions. WE sent a couple of foot balls and little battery operated fans movies Cd's any thing we could think of! Also we sent things like under ware and socks (in different sizes) books of different kinds things that could be given away because not everyone could get much more than a letter because their families couldn't afford to send them the things they needed. We're from the New Orleans area so around Mardi Gras we would send a King cake they could share!

Playing cards, magazines, mini footballs, water guns, Mad Libs, DVDs (if he has access to a microwave, you can send microwave popcorn, or if not -- licorice and other movie candy), homemade CDs, holiday decorations (lights, mini christmas trees, or cut outs or whatever), board games, dominoes, video games, pictures of family, drawings from kids, local newspapers, homemade cookies or rice krispie treats

And also... chapstick, individual powdered drink mixes, batteries, socks, pens, stationary, trail mix, beef jerky, and the special band aid pads for blisters are always good.

I sent a couple gun, hunting, and car mags... it made my hubby smile. There was a pack of 100 poker chips for like $3 at Walmart, so I sent that with a deck of cards (and a note telling my hubby if he gabled away our mass amounts of wealth I would kill him... again, just to make him smile). Let's see... Every deployment my husband's been gone he's gotten a little (and I mean little) stuffed animal with my perfume on it, just to remind him of me & home (last year a cow, this year a basset hound... hehe, he hasnt gotten that yet). Just anything that you think would make him smile (my husband loves his truck, I sent him a little hot weels replica of his truck last year). Just stuff that you think would make him laugh, but not that he really feels like he needs to bring hom. Good luck, God bless, and Semper Fi!

silly string...... any thing you can prank some one with..... Nerf guns are a blast...we love them too...but those darts to tend to disappear themselves......so lots of those ....... that nasty flavored gum..... always fun to get your buddy with....and the ever popular shocking device Spencer's sells some cool games of that type........all popular items on my boat..... but the most sought after items are the Nerf guns and silly string...... the last one always has to be cleaned up before the chief sees but that's part of the fun basically if you would give it to a 7Th grader it'll probably be good........

Nerf guns. And extra darts. We have a blast with them, but the darts tend to disappear quickly. The most popular in my unit is the Maverick.
