your almost choosing the personality of what you wish your child to be. Take a good look at the genes your passing on, if it's a 50% chance the kid will be scrawny, i wouldn't do, that's totally asking for it. But if you think you've got some good genes and he's gonna be built like a Line Backer go for it. I do like the first name but the middle name like i said will cause judgement.

No. Maximus is not all that uncommon at the moment -- it's actually a bit fashionable along with other Roman-gladiator-sounding names like Atticus and Augustus. Max sounds like "one of the guys." And Max McLane sounds dashing and memorable.

Nobody will even know the middle name ... it'll just be fun for him to tell people that Danger is his middle name. (I have to admit, giving the middle name Danger "Danger is my middle name!" is rather cliched, but it's not quite frequent enough to seem stupid instead of fun.)

I figure that parents who would give their kid such a name are likely to be passing on genes for a great sense of humor. I really believe we almost can't give our own children names that their personalities don't bear well. We'd see the baby and hesitate, if it wasn't something that would fit our own kid.

I tend to like unusual names.
But, yes I think you will set him up for being teased. If he has a certian personality it would work for him. Or he might be a confident- individual who would love the name.

Why not leave off the imus and name him Max Danger McLane?
Lots of people hate their middle names and never tell anyone,
He might go by Max D. Mclane

It is totally up to you

Yup, he will be teased- Max Danger McLane- it is like an old 1970s action hero or something. You may want to at least change the middle name.

Call him Maximus Dudley Danger McLane. He can write his name as "Max D McLane" and when asked what the "D" stands for can reply "Danger" or "Dudley" depending on which he feels more comfortable revealing.

Yes, I think he would be cruelly teased. However, if that's the name you like...Compromise; name him 'Maximus D. McLane' as he gets older (and ask) tell him what the 'D' stands for and if HE chooses to tell other people...it will me his choice, complete with what ever consequences that come with it.

Read my answer for Hunter. My dogs name is Max. Why don't you name him Austin Danger Powers or James Bond. Hey!!! Its Tampax Max! You could always have his first name as Gluteus Maximus. Yup, name your boy that and wait till school gets going and believe me kids are soooo cruel. Give the kid a name people won't make fun of. Think of him when hes an adult. Your family is right.

I think Maximus is great but the Danger part of it is a bit much. It makes him sound like a super hero.

In my opinion, if you and your partner love the name then stick with it, don't worry what your family think its your child you have to live with it and raise it name it a name you like! If your childs name is so called 'normal' and kids wanna tease your child they'll find something else to tease him/her about anyway! You never know your child may make the name 'cool'! who knows! Max is fine!
Good luck and go with your instints!
