Few cancers are actually genetic in natuer, only about 5%.

You don't mention the types of cancers that killed your parents.

You have also had cancer, presumably you have had all regular follow up monitoring that your oncologist recommends.

Yes there is a chance your cancer will recur.
Yes there is a chance you will develop a new cancer.
But, you have been given a second chance.
If you were going to live the rest of your life being paranoid, why bother trying to fight it 21 years ago??????

After 21 years clear, you probably have as much chance of being killed in a car accident as having your cancer recur.

Any one of us could be killed in an accident tomorrow.

Live your life today, and make the most of whatever time you have!

I'll be loving and frank! My father died of skin cancer his dad dies of cancer his dad died of cancer. Am I paranoid no not quite like that. use sunblock no more than 25-30SPF over is redundant. And try to be a night owl (I'm serious global warming is worse than they let on.) I know a man & woman not related both had to have some of they're faced scraped 10-15x b/c of them taking carnival cruises and ignoring the sun cant do that these days. But I'm not paranoid (it'll destroy you) live life to the fullest take precautions. And Thats all I can share, besides my dad had 20 lbs of flesh cut out of him. and still died & was nuked and passed still too darn young @43
Im his son Im 36 Never any cancer. Knock on wood! Bye. Ill pray. I have the lightest skin avail. & my pediatrician said my risk of cancer was raised 60% thanx to my genes.

The reality is that you could be struck by lightning or hit by a bus at any moment. If you take appropriate precautions and see a doctor regularly then chances are that you'll be OK. If you spend the rest of your life afraid of what may happen around every corner, you will probably live to be 100 and have a quality of life that makes you wish you were dead at 70.

Don't be paranoid.. but keep on top of it.
Like go to the doctor every so often to get it checked and what not.
Better safe then sorry.
