I don't care. He is just another driver. Kyle Busch is a much better racer and will go further in this sport than JR will.

The only people upset are the ones that got "8" tatooed on there bodies or painted 8 on their cars.
Sure drivers are identified by their numbers but there is a time change needs to be made and for Junior the time is now.Talks went on about the number "8" but as with the "Bud" name the 2 will be linked with each other.
A new beginning and a new team ,new sponsor ,yes a new number.

Nothing will change. The No. 8 car belongs to DEI, why should it follow Dale Earnhardt Jr.?

Not sure what possible difference it makes what number he gets. If you're a fan of Jr., then you're a fan of Jr. - not the number.
I mean, unless you have a tattoo and need to add a number before or after the 8, who cares? :p
If it changes him, it will be for the better, he needs to move on.

The number on the side of a driver's car isn't going to effect his driving ability. In fact when Jr. goes to HMS he may have better equipment. So maybe the #8 will symbolize something less than the new number he is going to have on the side of his car.

Jr drives a race car. I like Jr, but I really don't care about the number. It is a scoring tool, and a way for find a car on the track.

How about the old days, when your number was what place you were in points, or starting the race?

As to paraphrase a caller on the radio. "The Red Nation, lost their driver, their beer, their number and now the chase too".

Personally I think it's kind of sad he won't have the number 8. His grandfather raced with that number so it would have been nice to see him carry on with it.

What attitude? ..... LIke he can't catch a break. That guy has been thru a lot in his life... I would be in a straight jacket.

I think his doors will have to be painted differently. His attitude wont change cause you cant see the outsides of the doors from inside the car.

the tatoo carrying people will have a hard time with it, but i think it will be fine with the bulk of the fans... little e will have a change of attitude next year anyway... he needs to prove that he can make it out there on his own
