You're just a teenager, for God's sake; go read the bible and find out what you're missing. Life is not Dungeons & Dragons.

Nope- I bet you find alot of Agnostics are more accepting too.. I know I am completely fascinated by paganism as a whole and find it to be a rather benign and pleasant set of beliefs.. with a rational world-view on the whole. Part of the reason I am accepting of such beliefs is because unlike Christianity, I can accept that others have different beliefs and even be interested in them. Christianity is not so accepting because they believe that everyone else is wrong and is either on the bad side or will be punished because they aren't on the "right side".. logical people realize that beliefs are neither right nor wrong.. they are unique and personal life-choices that should be respected and learned about.. You have to be open-minded.. atheists, agnostics and pagans (among others, even some christians) are pretty much in general.. its a rare Christian that is, so they are less accepting.

I don't think it's surprising. 90 percent of humans believe in some form of creator etc. Atheists live in a world where they believe that 90% of the population if full of crap. They're used to dealing with people's miscellaneous religious beliefs.

Christians on the other hand, have sizeable numbers, and can cluster together in safe groups. They see Christians every day, marry Christians, and have Christians as friends. It's easy for them to bad mouth non-Christians, because they have a large supportive Christian community to fall back on.

Athiests exist every day in a world with people believing in "crap", so the "crap" of your religion isn't any more offensive than the other crap that everyone else believes.

I hope I didn't hurt your feelings... I was just trying to illustrate a point. I'm an agnostic, if you were curious.

Pagan or atheist, all the same to Christians, you either believe God or you don't, Believer or Unbeliever, thats the Bible, so its not unusual to me. The Bible is clear, Jesus said in John 3:3, except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom Heaven. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour you will be seperated from the light and death, Jesus is the Light, Now you don't have to stay that way, Christ is always ready to forgive, all we have to do is ask, ask with a sincere heart, are you ready to be saved, to be born again, spiritually, just say this simple prayer believing,Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

I've experienced the same. Hheheee what it really comes down to. from what I've seen', is whether the theist is an 'enslaver' or not. Monotheistic religions like Christianity and Islam have the central philosophy of 'convert or die'.

Atheists and the heretics are the original 'free thinkers'. They definately LOVE the buffet of ideas that life offers. The Christians and Muslims try to create can orthodoxy of thought. hehhee they really don't like exceptions, they prefer their ideas all wrapped up in little boxes with 'pretty' bows.

I am with Linda B I don't try to push my Christian beliefs on anyone either. I care about people and I know God is the Judge and the one that will bring them to him . I am concerned about every ones soul. I believe in Heaven it is called Faith and when I lived the way I lived and now am saved from that life and have had miracles in my life, I like to share it but if someone doesn't want to hear it I just go on about my business and leave them alone. Pushing it on someone will push them further away from it. I am sorry some "Christians" have treated you this way and have made you feel this way but God made us with free will and it is no ones right to try to PUSH someone into something. I believe that God can work His Miracles just fine.

No, not unusual but a common issue these days.
People always find themselves accepted by people in similar situations because they understand and are more willing to give guidance and friendship than those who are from a totally different viewpoint

As an atheist, I've noticed this before.

I think this is so primarily because Pagans generally don't proselytize.

Another reason is that most Pagans I've encountered seem to share my position on many social issues such as abortion, the death penalty, evolution vs. creation, homosexual marriage, etc.

I know that inherent in many religions it is their duty to change others, or to "save" them. However, I do find it odd as we were given the most important commandment from the Christ which goes: To love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your might, and to love your neighbor as you love yourself. We are also taught that how we judge is how we will be judged in the same measure. I don't know about them, but these two seem to be mutually exclusive. I don't try to convince anyone, and I accept everyone's right to freely believe as they do. So....
Blessed Be, and may peace be with you

We are used to most people being theists - but pagans never threaten us with torture and seldom try to hurt others.

Christians believe both atheists and pagans actually worship their devil (who was created by their god, knowing full well what he would do) - and so can't accept any other belief or lack thereof.

No, it is not unusual that atheists agree with you, a pagan by your own admission. Since you and the atheists don't believe in God, then you have a lot in common. Nothing to envy, but so what?
