They have as much right to an opinion as anyone else. Unfortunately, students are no longer taught that every right we have was bought and maintained with someone's blood. No longer do we teach that each of these rights comes with an attendant responsibility. This is a time of great belief in entitlement in our society and many people unrealistically think we will always have our way of life because- it's ours. Some people have been tainted by the irrational rantings of the ultra far left and actually believe our country and our soldiers are responsible for every bad thing in the entire world. No sane person likes war, but some of us realize sometimes it is necessary. People have not learned the lessons of history, nor have they learned to be discerning. They repeat what they hear and never check the source. It is sad to hear people complaining about all the loss of "right" and blaming the president. Roosevelt made mince meat of the Constitution in an effort to protect our soldiers and country. More men were killed in the beach on D-day alone than have died in the entire war.

There is no excuse for being disrespectful of our military men and women who accepted a dirty, dangerous job that most do not want to do. The vast majority are good decent people. Unfortunately the press chooses to inflate the bad things done by the few and ignore the good things done by the majority.

Canoonan, Some people just don't realize how good they have it because of these selfless souls who join the military. Perhaps they are lonely and need some attention.

I know first hand what it takes out of a soldier to have our country disrespect our job. I was returning from Vietnam when I was accosted by a woman in Idlewilde Airport in NY. She spit on me and called me a "Baby killer". She was lucky that I was exhausted from my flights to get home or I might have rung her neck or done something equally dastardly to her. Oh, well, we will always have our discontents.

It sickens me to see these scumbags criticize the very group of people that gave everything so that they could enjoy the freedoms and way of life that they enjoy and take for granted everyday. It would be nice to know that all Americans support their troops as individual people. These brave men and women answer the call of duty so they do not have too. Someone has to do it. Some people can't separate soldiers (those who are fighting a war and fulfilling their role as an employee of the army) and politicians (those who declare and send them into war for political means) I fully support the soldiers but personally think that the politicians, who put them in the line of fire for no good reason, should be held accountable for all those who died as a result of their decision.

people critisize them because of what they do to their familes. Its a stupid choice. What you get paid is not worth your life. not to mention, the guys in Iraq are suppose to be helping people not killing families.

I do not have a problem with the soldiers and sailors. They have done their job honorably. It is the policy that needs to change not the military. These MORONS who call the soliders murderers and assassins, apparently do not realize, that without them, then they couldn't sit and say those things. God Bless Thank You

because they've never had to deal with the life of being a soldier or sailor or whatever. they've never had to look into their childrens' eyes and tell them that they're daddy is coming home soon and know deep down that there's a possibility that you're liing to your kids. they've never had to listen to a soldier cry helplessly because the last time he saw his child she was three weeks old and now she's walking and he's missed all of her life so far. because they've never seen a military comercial and sat in the floor crying for hours because they don't know if they'll ever see their spouse again. because in their eyes, they're not really involved. because they're selfish and heartless and incompitent useless souls who wonder the earth looking for something to complain about. What a way to boost moral over there huh. I support our troops. I don't hold protest signs because I've lost a loved one over there. I try to thank every man/woman I run across in uniform! Why? because I appreciate what they do every day to help protect our freedoms to sit on our back sides and spew hate on the internet about them even though they've done nothing wrong. I think the majority of people support our military even if they don't support the War in Iraq.

I don't think that the people who criticize our troops understand that they have the right to give their opinion only because of the men and women who have fought and died to protect the U.S. Constitution.
