This happens some times as long as the cat isn't acting like she is still in pain or anthing I wouldn't worry about it. Since it has been so long I would say that there is only one baby. This happens sometimes not very often but it happens.

If she is not straining or acting like she thinks that more are in her then she only has the one. Chances are that since she is a stray she had these kittens from her first heat cycle which is very bad for them and frequently results in smaller litters. If she is acting like she has more in her take her to the vet. You should take her anyway to have her FIV (feline AIDS) and Feline leukemia tested, these are incurable deadly diseases that you will want to know about before you get attached to either the mother or kitten, they can also be transmitted to any other cats you have in your home. There is no vaccine for FIV so do not think that your cats are protected from this.

Yes, the neighbor's cats kept having cats. It was winter and one of them was out and she was pg. We let her in and she had 1 kitten in my cats litter box! When our cats heard her scream they came running and frightened her. She ran out of the box dragging the baby behind her. We thought the poor baby was dead, but started gently rubbing it with a cloth and she came around. Later we found out the kitten is deaf, not sure if the trama at birth was the cause or not. Anyway, the neighbors said we could have them. They are healthy, happy cats now-the baby will be 4 in Nov. She's just like any other cat, except she meows really LOUD when she wants anything and she thinks she in charge of everyone!

Yes,especially in a young cat. Twenty years ago,I had a feral cat who had a kitten in my neighbor's garage, then she had three more just three months later! I was finally able to catch her and have her and the kittens fixed. She tamed down nicely, and became a very sweet kitty. You would be wise to have the kitty and babies checked by a vet, though, just to be safe and make sure all is well.

the number of kittens depends on the number of times she gets "courted". one kitten for each time. thats what i heard anyways.

is she still swollen?
i'd think there would be more kittens, but maybe there's been a complication and she can't get them out.
you probably need a vet's help for this one, they could give her an ultrasound and everything.
