Not sure but I think that is about when the season ends. So no more lifts.

My mates and I are planning to hike the back country well into October because the main range should still have enough cover to have some fun in.

Honestly, keep an eye on the weather and snow reports but it's really unusual to get good cover in mid October.

Might be enough for sightseeing, or even for a touristy scoot around, but unlikely to be adequate for a serious skier.

Cross country - for sure. Lift served downhill (assuming the lifts are open) - dubious.

No snow in Oct. Oct is begining of Summer.
