from past times spent on the internet I have found out that my last name has come from Germany (Im German) I told my friends this and got the nickname 'Nazi' and then this past summer I found out that my blood grandmother is Jewish, some of my friends found this extremely funny when I told them, I wanna know how you react, tell me exactly what you visualized, thought and said when you read that first part

My thought is " how wonderful , that it shows two different people, from once apposing cultures, had learned to apparently forgive and love one another!" If only we all could be.. the world would have peace.. your Grand-Mother sounds so cute!!.. lucky you are to have her...

That is a little ironic, given the German and Jewish stereotypes. But the thing about stereotypes is they're nowhere near 100% accurate. :) I think it's cool that you have both in your family tree. Something about that says "peace" to me.

I see nothing wrong with you being both German and Jewish. Many people are of multiple backgrounds. Your friends probably are, too! I also have German, Irish,polish,2 different kinds of Indian,French, and probably some I've forgotten in my background. What makes me me are my actions and how I treat people. I follow what I believe God wants me to do and how He wants me to act. If you have no prejudices, and you treat those around you with respect than God will reward you! Don't let your friends get to you. And ask them what's their heritage!

My initial reaction was that you have some pretty sick and insensitive friends to brand you with such a vile nickname.
But after reading your level of respect for your grandmother in the additional details, maybe your friends were more perceptive than I originally gave them credit for.

I didn't visualize anything until I read about your grandmother. Then I visualized an old white lady with blue hair wearing a blue dress.

I was thinking. What are you talking about?
Then I said, I wish this guy was smart - then I would have learned something today.
Last thing I thought was - if your Jewish grandmother knew you were coming - she would have used a wine cork.

I would entirely fail to see the humour in any of this.
